Chapter 1: Nature Calls

Chapter 1

He was the handsomest guy I have ever seen in my life. His hair was jet black. His eyes were a light hazel. He had the most athletic, tanned body I have ever seen. He was what all guys dreamed of being in height, he was 6'2". If he were to live in Hollywood people will be fighting for him to be a model, or actor. And not only did he have looks he had brains. He was on the honor roll list at school. And to put the cherry on the cake he had the most amazing name ever Angelo. And he was my best friend...

"Dude snap out of it. We are here." Angelo said while shaking me from my day dream.

"Sorry man, most have dazed off. The bus ride was so long." I replied while get up and stretching.

We had been on that buss for over three hours straight. Me and my class were on a field trip to the mountains. We are staying at a camp for three days, to learn about nature for science. I was actually excited for this trip for three reasons. One I get to spend a whole weekend with my three best friends Angelo, Alice, and Becky. The second is I love nature even though I don't get to come to the mountains that much. And third I might finally confess my love for the person I have been crushing on for two years.

"Yo, Jayden hurry up everyone is waiting for you." Angelo yelled at me from the entrance of the bus. Its funny I didn't even notice he moved. But I just shrugged my shoulders, grab my bag and headed out the bus. Right when I stepped off the bus I could smell the forest. How much I have missed that smell. It has been years since I have been in the mountains.

My family doesn't like the forest to much. They prefer the cities. And with today's society growing in technology I can see them not surviving a camping trip for three days. How sad. But I on the other hand can survive in the forest for years. Sure I may not look it but I can survive. I am and average height teen at 5'8", I just turned 16 years old, I have blond hair like the one they say Rapunzel had, I was really skinny and I had the bluest baby blue color in my eyes. I am not one for modern technology plus my dad put me in the boy scouts when I was little. That's when I first found out about the forest and feel in love with it.

So with each step I took toward the crowd of my class mates I made sure to take in every detail of the forest surrounding us. When I had reached the group Mr.Hawkins our science teacher was telling us the rules and cabin assignments.

"Alright everyone listen up. First of all remember don't stray to far from the camp and to always us the buddy system. Second just because we are out of school doesn't mean this is a vacation there would be some learning going. And the third rule is please don't hurt or come up to a stray animal or plants that you don't know of. Got it?" Mr.Hawkins asked everyone.

We all nodded our heads in unison."Good now here are the room assignments." He started to name off everyone on the list and paired them up into a cabin. Luckily I got stuck with my best friend as my roommate. We were in cabin eleven which was a few feet away down hill. Once everyone got they're room assignment we all grabbed our bags and were dismissed to our cabins. We were free to do whatever we pleased for the rest of the night

The actually learning doesn't start till tomorrow morning. Which everyone didn't like cause we had to get up at seven in the morning. Most people will complain but not me. I love the mornings and nights. I rather be up doing stuff then be asleep wasting my time. Life was too short to be sleeping it away. That's what my dad always told me.

Angelo and I just made it to our cabin when he was already complaining. "Man I hate nature so much. There is nothing to do out here."

"Dude relax. Its going to be fun. There are allot of things to do in the forest." I stated with a huge smile on my face.
