Chapter 5: 21 Questions With a Swim

Its behind me I could hear it. I could hear the footsteps crunching everything on the earth in his path. I could hear the snarling from his vicious mouth. I could feel its eyes on me during the whole pursuit. I could hear the howl that would be occasionally released when ever he  was gaining on me.

I didn't know where to go. I had no place to go too. I had to find a place soon before it gets me. The path is starting to get treacherous. I kept losing my footing but I didn't let that stop me. I just turned the corner towards a dead end. I turned to head back but there it was right in front of me.

It was huge, and scary. It had the blackest fur I had ever seen. Its teeth were huge and sharp. They look like they can cut through anything. Its eyes were what stuck out to me the most. They were a piercing dark blue. They could entrap anyone who dare stay long enough to look in those eyes. It was frightening but oddly they were familiar. I don't know where from but I knew I know those eyes.

It howled again while circling me, trapping me. I looked around for an escape but I couldn't find one. I looked up to the heavens to pray for answer but no such luck. I tried to climb my way up but I couldn't. It released another terrifying growl sending nothing but fear into my body. I could see it from the corner of my eye taking its position. I had no were to go, I was doomed. It howled and I closed my eyes bracing my self for the pain to come.........

"Jaden wake up...Jaden" Zion spoke in my ear shaking me awake.

I open my eyes from this horrible slumber. That nightmare was scaring me sick. I could feel nothing but sweat all over me. My clothes where drenched in it. My body was shaking in fear. I couldn't stop shaking. The pounding in my head was unbearable. My breathing was short and fast.

"Hey your okay. Calm down it was all a dream." Zion comforted me.

He wrapped me in his arm and try to calm me down. Right when he did that I started to calm down. Its like he has this calming affect on me. In less then five minutes I was breathing normal, my heart beat was at the right pace and my shaking stopped.

"You okay?" he asked me

I turned my head towards him and notice how close our faces are. He was stunning. I really never noticed before but he was very handsome. "Y y yeah." was all I can spill out. Having him this close got me nervous but not in a bad way.

"Are you sure?" he asked looking into my eyes. I could be trapped in those eyes forever.

I wanted to reply but I couldn't find my voice. So I just nodded my head letting him know I was okay. I sat up, I didn't want to lay back down. I was afraid I would fall asleep again and have that horrible dream. I didn't talk for awhile, one I still couldn't find my voice and second I was still trying to calm down more.

It took me awhile to get back to normal but when I did I noticed that Zion was still holding on to me. I was wondering why he was still holding me. I was fine now plus I didn't think he would feel comfortable holding me like this. With his arms wrapped around me, my head tucked under his chin. I could also hear him muttering soothing words to me.

"Zion?" I asked looking up at him.

"Yes.." he replied looking down at me.

"I am okay now..... You don't have to hold me anymore." I stated.

He looked at me with a confused look but it didn't take him that long to go back to normal. "I guess your right." He nodded and released me from his comforting hold.

I kind of felt sad and I don't know.... naked I guess, with out him holding me. I really wanted to jump back into his arms. Its funny I have never felt this way before towards a guy... Especially towards a stranger. I don't really know much about Zion. But for some reason I feel really close to him. Like I knew him my whole life.
