It's the most wonderful time of year aka the holidays. Christmas is my favorite holiday in the world and I mean it. However, December is also one of the most awful times of year because of semester finals. I've been studying since the beginning of the month for the finals. None of my class averages are a single B at the moment and I wanna keep that way.
So much has happened during the first half of school year. Miranda hasn't bothered me since that scene in the cafeteria, but I have a feeling she'll bounce back some day. I just really hope she doesn't go to homecoming later this month. I'll have to ditch the homecoming dance this year if she does attend. What's weird about the school district, when it comes to homecoming, homecoming usually occurs in October, but we have our homecoming two days before Christmas Eve. Obviously, it's during winter break. I have exactly no idea why homecoming is in the winter. Apparently, it's been that way in the school district for many years now. However the only school in the district that has homecoming during October is SFHS.
As I was studying for the semester exam for algebra, Jescilla called me. She has been a best friend to me for quite a while now. Jescilla was always there for me whenever I needed her and I appreciated it. She's one in a million. Never met someone like her. Ever. I whip my phone out of my pocket and answered.
"Hey, Y/N. Am I bothering you?"
"I am studying for the algebra semester exam, but I can talk for a bit."
I could hear Jescilla release a sigh of relief on the other end, "Oh okay good. I just want to let you know that Miranda and her gang isn't going to homecoming this year. Yes, Y/N. I truly said isn't."
I can't even begin with this right now. I can actually attend homecoming this year! My feelings for Hiro actually have grown drastically for the past few months. Hopefully, I can could go to homecoming with him. It's actually my dream.
"Y/N?"
I snap back to reality, "Oh sorry. I just can't believe it that's all."
She laughed, "I never lied to you once, Y/N. I'll let you go back to your studying. You need it."
"Alright, Jescilla. See you tomorrow."
I hung up and went back to studying. So many equations I've learned in the fall semester. Algebra is literally my worse subject and I would of enjoyed it if I was a smart cookie like Hiro...
I continued studying for the test and Mom allowed me to eat dinner in my room. After a small break, I studied for the history exam as well. I didn't go to bed until midnight which is a bad time to go to sleep before exams.
The next day is the last day till winter break and all I wanna do is get the algebra and history semester exam over with. History is my strongest subject so I wasn't too worried about the exam, but I'm insanely worried about the algebra exam. I'm the best at algebra, but I usually get an A as my final average by the end of the semester.
As I sat down in my algebra class, the final bell rang. Perfect timing am I right?
Jescilla tapped my shoulder, "Ready for the algebra exam?"
I let out a small laugh, "I studied all night last night, but I have a feeling I still won't past."
She laughed along with me, "It's okay I feel the same way. Good luck to the both of us then."
Our algebra teacher silenced the classroom, "Today is your algebra semester exam. Please use your time wisely because you only have today to finish this exam." She passed out the exams to the whole classroom. When she passes the exam to me, I went to back of the packet. It had 50 questions. Oh lord how am I gonna do all of this in one class period?
