My jaw dropped for the third time today,
And it wouldn't be the last...

*ELIZABETHS POV*

"Oh. My. Nuggets." I blurted out. As I looked at the clearing.

"Seriously Liz, the smallest things surprise you" Chris said with a slight chuckle as he sat next to me.

"Hey Liz-" Chris' question or statement, I wasn't sure which one, was abruptly cut short with Seth clearing his throat.

Chris shot him a glare, but since he was our instructor, he couldn't do much about it. I stifled a groan as the two boys glared at each other and I decided that while they were pre-occupied I could go and check out this place.

I've allways thought of myself as a stealthy person, my brother and I used to play ninja at home... My... Brother... I wounder what he would be saying right now if he was here?

Scenes from our childhood flashed through my mind as I remembered all the things that had made up my life over the years.

'Elizabeth...' his voice cut into my thoughts like a knife. He had been the only one I could turn to, to talk about these things. Even-though I tried so hard, I just couldn't forget it, any of it. He had been talking to me through my mind since I started this military academy, and to be honest, I liked his company.

'Liz, I can't talk long right now' for the first time I noticed his voice seemed stressed and out of breath, like he had been running. 'Please, there's something I must tell you, you need to-' his words were cut short, and the silence was defining.

"Hello?" I asked, panic starting to set in. I started to think of all the possible scenarios, my breathing started to become ragged as my panic attack started to set in.

"Come on..." I said quietly, and after a few moments I continued, "really, this isn't funny, just say something."
The fear of being alone was something I couldn't bare. He had always been the one to fill the missing whole, the one that had always came when I called, and now I think he's gone. And I don't know when he'll be back...

The panic attack started to worsen, and my head started to pound. Little black dots started to appear across my vision, and I did the one thing I knew how to do...
Run...

*CHRIS' POV*

'Ahhh I swear this guy is the biggest-' my thoughts were interrupted by the man standing before me. We just glared at each other, bickering like children over things that mere totally irreverent.

I turned around to through a remark at Liz, since she wasn't helping in this situation, only to find that the place where she was standing was vacant.

Seth turned around and addressed the rest of the class, introducing hims led formally, and briefly starting to go over the basics of this class, and missions. As he explained, a small smile passed his features as he began to talk again.

"I will be testing you all to see your skill level" he said with enthusiasm; which of course resulted in groans from the group.

"Smith" Seth addressed me by my last name, which turned me nonexistent attention towards him.

He raised an eyebrow at me and then continued. "Well, since Smith over here decided to not pay attention, why doesn't he get the pleasure to go first" he said, the corners of his mouth lifting.

He turned towards me to get my answer, and slightly frowned. I could tell by his expression that, for the first time, he acknowledged Liz's absence. I mimicked him by raising my eyebrow and sighed. I could tell that he knew that I didn't have the slightest clue about Liz's whereabouts, just by looking at my eyes. I've always believed you could look into someone's eyes, and know everything you needed to know about them just like that.

I sighed and brushed off her absence. She was the best fighter I had ever seen, she could take care of herself. Plus there's a possibility that she just wants to be left alone. And I know that if I bug her when she wants to be alone, she would be Super, and I mean, SUPER angry.

She may be short, but that girl packs one hell of an attitude, and a deadly kick to accompany it as well.
I internally shuttered, imagining her kicking me, with that pissed off expression.

I turned my attention back towards Seth, as I listened to him explain what we were going to do, and the additional rules...
