I looked back up to the guys only to see their eyes...

Their glowing eyes...

I took a timid step back from them, a frown on my face

I took a timid step back from them, a frown on my face. They wore pained expressions, almost like they were hoping that I wouldn't find out. I took another step back and then spun on my heels, running as fast as I could. I knew I had seen them before, but I was so wrong about them being my classmates, there the ones that killed my classmates. I wasn't sure if they were going to try and follow me, but I sure hoped they wouldn't. I don't think I would look them in the face. I hate to admit it, but I was starting to like those two guys in the short time I'd known them. We would've probably been friends, if it wasn't under these circumstances. Still, I couldn't shake their pained expressions from my eyes. I felt tears well in my eyes, but I pushed them down, trying to remain strong. My legs ached from all the running, and I looked up at the sky. The sun set and the stars were beautiful, lighting up my surrounding just enough so I could maneuver through the trees.

Once I felt like I had put enough distance between us, I slowed down to a walk, and sighed. This has been one heck of a day, and by know I was completely exhausted. I walked up to one of the nearby trees and started to climb. There was no way I was going to be sleeping on the ground vulnerable like a pre-made dinner. I shuddered at the thought as I settled on a particularly large tree branch. My mind wandered towards my classmates and Chris. 'I promise ill find you, just please, please don't leave me behind...' with that last thought I drifted into a nightmare filled sleep.

I woke up the next morning with a scream

I woke up the next morning with a scream. As I jolted upright I lost my balance and landed at the bottom of the tree with a thump.  The nightmares plaguing my dreams were of things from the recent, and the distance past, things I wish I could unsee. I got up and dusted myself off and looked up at the sky. By the position of the sun, I was guessing it was about 6:45? I was never great at reading the time during the day, but when it came to the stars, I was an expert. I loved studying the stars, and spent a lot of my free time looking at them in utter fascination.

I started to walk towards the way I came. I know it was a risky move with the Hell hounds about, but I had to reach the door. The others have probably already reached it and went through it. The last time they saw me, I was being chased by the pack, so I'm pretty sure they all think I'm dead by now. Boy are they going to be surprised when they see me! I couldn't suppress the small smile that covered my lips, I know that I shouldn't be smiling at a time like this, but I just can't help it.
