Chapter {19}

I looked up to Jackson and finally realized that he actually wasn't looking at me, but behind me... Me eyes widen in fear when I notice the presence behind me, powerful and deadly. I refuse to turn around as I start to shake in fear. It finally clicks in my head, and I realize that there is only one thing that could drive this sort of reaction out of theses deadly people. I slowly suck in a breath as I slowly turn around, driven by the fear of having my back to it. I whimper in fear as we make eye contact, and only two words leave my mouth in that moment...

"Oh God."

As those two words left my mouth, I knew I was in some serious frazzlin dadgummit. I hesitantly took a cautious step back, then another, running into an all too familiar wall. I instantly tense up, this was NOT how I wanted to spend today, otherwise I'd be somewhere safe and relaxing, somewhere that's not like this 'compromising situation'. I take a brief moment to sweep my gaze over the people around me, internalizing their every moves. There has to be a gap somewhere, there has to be some way that I could escape. My breath was coming out in little puffs, the cold finally getting to me; how in the world did I not notice it sooner?

I open my mouth to say something—which would probably be completely useless, and put me at the center of attention—but nothing comes out, I'm frozen in fear, a sitting duck.

"Shhhhh." A relatively soothing voice whispers from behind me, but being me, I tense up. I take a step to the right, registering the growls that I got from those around me. My mind feels like it's spinning at a million miles per hour. I take this moment to take in the creature before me, but for some reason, I know there was something off. Yes, it was an Angeloid, but there was something off, something that I just couldn't pin. It, or rather he, no IT, was missing something. I steal a glance to my left, trying to steal a glance at Jackson. My breath caught in my thought as I looked into his eyes, they were filled with nothing but bloodlust.

I stilled as It finally donned on me of what was missing from it, from him. It was something that they all had—yes, he was angry, well not just angry but REALLY pissed off—but this one was missing one key detail that every Angeloid possessed. That was the thirst for blood, bloodlust, and I don't sense a drop on him. I know I won't be able to explain it, but for some reason the fear left me. I put on my 'resting bitch face' as I felt as I finally had courage.

I don't really know why, but something about all of this just made me want to laugh out loud. For Christ's sake, I'm standing between the two most deadly people of the planet, yet I just want to laugh. Yep, I've definitely lost it... As I'm thinking this, I realize everyone is staring at me as if I've gone mentally insane, and my face goes bright red as I try to hide my embarrassment.

"Oh fudgesicles, I said that aloud didn't I" I muttered quietly to myself, but APPARINTLY not quietly enough because I was greeted with a chorus of 'mhm's' and nods. Which of course furthered my embarrassment. Well there goes all of my newfound confidence. I'm about to say something, but interrupted by Jacksons statement that through me off guard.

"What do you want?" the bitterness in his voice did not go unnoticed. "This is our land, your breaking the agreement." Wait, What agreement?

As he finally spoke up, his words chilled me to the bone; "I wouldn't be breaking the agreement if you hadn't taken what's MINE!"

When he finished saying that one sentence, I couldn't help but think OH SHIT. SHITTITY, SHIT, SHIT, SHIT! My breathing picked up to an unhealthy pace as I was processing what he was saying. I wasn't an idiot, I knew that I was the only one out of place there, the only one that didn't belong. In that moment I wish the Earth would just open up and swallow me whole, at least that would save me the embarrassment.

His comment must've struck a chord because it really pissed off Jackson and the others. Shouting and growling erupted all around me, everyone was talking over one another, so I couldn't quite pick up what they were all saying. I took a glance towards Jackson, taking in his expression. I was stuck between laughing at his beat red face, and groaning because I just knew he was seconds from snapping... And, he snapped.

"JUST SHUT IT!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. I knew he was pulling the 'Alpha' card on everyone, but I could help it, he looked so funny. He was so red, someone could mistake him as a lobster that got sunburnt. I tried stiffing my laugh, but just to my luck, it came out as a snort. Which of course got me more than my share of glares and snickers.

Jackson finally calmed down from his little outburst and started speaking; "Ok, I don't know what you are talking about, but we did not take anything that belongs to you, OK?" He let out a sigh, clearly more frustrated than he was letting on. "What do you think that we took from you anyway?"

The Angeloid sighed and spoke up, "Well I know you took it, because... I'm looking at her."

Oh shit...
