"Wow so you managed to get past her without killing her. Hear that Rick?"
Frisk had explained most of the journey up to their current point.
Morty still wouldn't let the Toriel situation go."God damn Morty. You're just determined to make me hate you, aren't you?"
"What does he mean by that sir?"
"Jesus.. for the last time, just call me Rick, not sir. And I uhh.."
"Go on Rick, tell hi- he.. uhh, them. Tell them what you did."
"I KILLED HER, ALRIGHT?! I FUCKING KILLED TORIEL."
Frisk was taken aback, their eyes widening from a narrow slit to almost full size.
"W.. why?"
"Look, I didn't mean to. Hell, I barely swung with any force! With a toy! How was I supposed to know she would explo-*(UUUrrp!)*-de?!"
Frisk looked like they was about to start crying.
"Then.. I have to reset." They finally said.
"W-w-what's 'reset' mean? Rick, what do..does they mean?"
"There was something else I left out. Every time I die, or make a mistake, I can.. go back and try again. For some reason, only I can do it, but there have been others. It's because I have 'Determination'.. it's like a power here. I can't really die as long as I never give up. But.. If Toriel's gone.. then I need to reset completely. And I've done this.. a lot of times. But I've never seen you two before so I don't really know what will happen to you." Frisk explained.
Rick looked interested for the first time in a while.
"You can just, go back? Like time travel? Any time you want?"
"Not really time travel.. more like an extra try.."
"L-like a video game then? Reset sounds a lot like a video game."
Morty jumped in."Well hold on now. If you reset now, we'll never figure out how to get the hell out of here. Unless you already know? You said you've done this before." Rick asked thoughtfully.
"You um..well there is this barrier. You can pass if you have a monster soul.. or monster can pass with a human soul. Or, you can break it with seven human souls." Frisk explained.
"Oh yeah! I HAVE TO KILL SOMEONE! Hah, well then we're good to go, right? I can just go back and grab Toriel's soul... or something?"
Morty and Frisk both frowned at Rick's callous attitude.
"Oh common! At least make her death worth something, don't give me that look."
"We can't go back anyways. Remember Rick, that kid is killing everyone." Morty reminded.
"Ah shit that's right. Okay well, how bout we go kick the kid's ass then take it's soul?"
"J-Jesus Rick!"
"Did you say a kid is killing monsters?" Frisk asked quietly.
Rick and Morty both turned and nodded."Chara.. I was wondering why she wasn't... but...if she is here..I might not even be able to reset.."
"What?! First you tell us you can time travel, now you're saying you can't? Which is it kid?!" Rick demanded.
"We have to go. If Chara is using the soul already, we don't have much time.."
Frisk ran ahead. The kid with the blue striped shirt didn't stop until they were outside a doorway.
"In here. I..I'm not sure what's going to happen. If I can't reset.. I might not survive this. And if Toriel is gone, she won't stop Asgore from attacking me. I'll have to try talking to him.."
Frisk went in."Rick, I don't know about this..."
"Quit being such a pussy Morty. We've made it this far. And I don't know, maybe Asgore will buy this fucking egg. Only one way to find out!"
Rick followed after Frisk.
Inside was a garden filled with yellow flowers, not too different from Flowey.
It doubled as a throne room, with the two chairs hiding in the back.A large hunched figure tended to the garden. As Fisk approached, the figure glanced up and gave a friendly greeting.
"Oh.. Howdy! I'm Asgore. What brings you..." He stopped as he realized Frisk was a human.
"I see.." He paused.
"I very much wish I could say 'would you like a cup if tea', but you know how it is...""Wait, Asgore, it can be like that. We don't have to fight for you to get a 7th human soul.
Another, evil human is coming. You have to help us take hers!"
Frisk pleaded."Really now.. and who are these two?"
Asgore asked as he noticed Rick and Morty."They.. they are humans too. They can help though."
Asgore, the great goat king who bore a striking resemblance to Toriel stroked his beard thoughtfully.
"So.. you're the guy who killed six other kids?" Rick demanded.
"So you know? It is true.. yes."
"And you think I'm the monster, Morty."
"Sir, please don't say any more!" Frisk whispered harshly.
"What? Everyone already knows, who cares if this guy knows about Toriel..."
"What did you say.. about Toriel..?" The king asked in a deep, low voice.
"I uh, killed her. Had too. She tried to fillet me. I'm not here to die bro, I just want to sell this damn egg."
Rick held up the Zenglurt egg. Asgore eyed him down, then from seemingly out of nowhere, pulled out a massive trident and sliced it in half.
"Wha-.. that.. that was indestructible! And priceless!!" Rick cried.
"You... killed my wife?! After everything else that has been taken from us, after you humans banished us here and killed my child, now you've killed my wife?!"
Without waiting for a response, Asgore swung towards Rick's neck, initiating the battle.
Frisk frantically tried to calm him down, to warn him, but he was blinded by rage.
"Whoa, hey! It was an acciden-"
The primal roars from the goat king shut him up.
Rick attempted to avoid the trident from striking his soul, but the king was too fast. Asgore landed 4 hits on him before his first turn ended.Morty and Frisk were not affected by the battle, and their souls stayed safely inside their bodies.
But Rick was in trouble and he knew it.
