"Hey, can I come too?"
The child merely stared up at the desperate man. The eagerness in his eyes seemed to be begging her to take him. The child smiled at him, a sweet and sincere smile highlighted by two almost perfectly rounded patches of red.Saying nothing, the child turned and began towards Mt.Ebott.
"H-hey you little prick! I showed you the way, at least PRETEND to be a decent human being!"
A long knife reflected the man's sudden change of attitude from hostile to terrified. The child hid the knife back in the appointed pocket.
With the man backing off, the young child made the trip up Mt.Ebott without interference. The young girl casually leaped into the chasm, knowing the bed of flowers would soften her landing.
Heading through the archway, however, held no talking flower to greet her.Intrigued, she continued on, hoping to at least be able to sink her blade into Toriel. She passed completed puzzles and noticed there was no Nabstablook ghost frantically spiriting away at her approach. It was as though someone had already been through here.
Even upon her arrival at Toriel's house, the goat-mother was nowhere to be seen.
The child made her way to the Ruins. Maybe the skeletons would be around with their annoying banter and ridiculous puns.Fortunately, there was one still sleeping at his post.
Sans snored loudly as ketchup dribbled from his lower lip. Fucking disgusting.Taking the chance, despite how unusual, the child raised her knife over the sleeping bone sack then quickly plunged it downwards.. hitting wood.
"*Chara.. I was wondering what that feeling was. heh.. a little early, isn't it?"
He had warped behind her. Typical. The child with the green striped shirt, the same who had time and time again slaughtered everyone in the underground just to see different results stood before Sans with her knife drawn and the same determination in her eyes that burned through Frisk's eyes as she repeatedly slashed through Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, and everyone else Sans knew and cared about.
"*first time you've come to me first, isn't it? And uhh...you aren't in Frisk anymore, huh?" Sans thought for a moment on this change of routine. The game was set, but there were too many players on the field.
Chara stood there with a smile on her face and a glare in her eyes.
"*well.. let's get this over with. I don't know what's going on but I know for damn sure I'm not going to let you pass."
His left eye changed to the blue flame shadowing the power that blazed deep within him."*last chance to just back off."
Chara's familiar heart shaped soul appeared before her. It would probably take many resets, but she was confidant that Sans would eventually die, like so many times before.Meanwhile, in the frozen city of Snowdin...
"Are you kidding me?! Not even one?! ONE SHMECKLE God dammit!!"
Rick was preparing to wring the neck of yet another shop keeper, this time a woman-rabbit monster.
It took a few minutes, but the duo quickly realized that nobody in Snowdin actually knew what a human looked like, therefore did not attack them."Well buddy, I can give you maybe some gold, but we ain't no pawn shop.
Besides, I don't want some random hard boiled egg anyway.""Wh-wh-where can we.. who CAN buy it?" Morty asked as Rick pouted.
"Why, I don't know in all truth. But I'd go ask them Temmies to help. They might not give much, but they will buy damn near anything." she replied.
"O-okay. Thank you ma'am!"
"Alrighty now you come back soon sweetie!"
Rick and Morty headed towards what the inhabitants called 'Waterfall'.
They had almost made it to the outskirts of the town when a tall skeleton wearing an odd orange outfit and cape bounded out of nowhere to greet them."YOU THERE! HALT! SO THAT I MAY HELP YOU LEAVE!" He ordered.
"Umm.. Rick?"
"I got this Morty. If I say the word, run like hell."
"I LIKE TO WHISPER TOO!" The skeleton had leaned in uncomfortably close to Rick's face.
"Christ, you coulda' fooled me. What do you want?""I WANT TO PROPERLY INTRODUCE MYSELF! I, AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS! AND I NOTICED YOU WERE HEADING PAST MY HOUSE WITHOUT ENTERING. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!"
"Um... you want us in your house?" Rick asked cautiously."
"Yeah. No thanks.""YES THANKS! YOU WILL ENTER SO THAT I MAY INTRODUCE YOU TO MY THINGS. I INSIST!"
"Rick, maybe we should just go in. He seems friendly enough.." Morty suggested.
"So do rapists, Morty. I'd rather just move on."
"IF YOU MOVE ON, I'M AFRAID I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TOO.."
Rick prepared for yet another assault.
"..INSIST YOU ENTER MY HOUSE AGAIN! AFTER ALL, PERSISTENCE IS ONLY ONE OF MANY TRAITS OF THE GREAT PAPYRUS! NYEH HEH HEH HEH!"
"God damm- fine! Lets get this over with.." Rick finally gave in. Morty ran into the relatively homely house first as Papyrus held the door open for the duo.
Rick followed. Inside was a very odd, rushed attempt at some sort of maze.
"NYEH! YOU HAVE ALL FALLEN FOR MY TRAP! THIS HOUSE HAS BEEN CLEVERLY REBUILT INTO A HUMAN CATCHING PRISON! IF YOU WISH TO ESCAPE, YOU MUST FIND YOUR WAY THROUGH PUZZLES AND TRAPS THAT WILL CONFOUND YOU!"
With a final "nyeh!" The door slammed shut behind them.
Rick tried the door.
It was unlocked.
papyrus had his (ear?) to the door,
and nearly fell forward. He stared at Rick and Morty with a shocked expression."WOWIE! I NEVER EXPECTED YOU TO ESCAPE SO QUICKLY! LIKE THE HUMAN BEFORE YOU, I AM ASTOUNDED BY YOUR CLEVERNESS!"
Morty started laughing.
"H-hey Rick! This guy is hilarious! I like him, Rick."The blue-haired man sighed and pushed past Papyrus.
"OKAY THEN. UNDYNE DOESN'T REALLY WANT HUMANS ANYWAYS RIGHT NOW, SO I WILL SEE, OR PERHAPS HEAR YOU LATER. FEEL FREE TO CHALLENGE MY HOUSE OF TRAPS ANY TIME, HUMANS!"
Morty waved goodbye then rushed to catch up with Rick.
"Rick, what is the matter with you?" He asked.
Rick kept trudging forward towards the icy fog ahead. "Rick?"No response.
As the fog thickened, and Rick was barely visible, he stopped and turned towards his grandson.
"Morty... I uh.. I have something I gotta tell you.."
