((this ones so lame guys im rlly sorry aha im gonna come up with better aus i promise, also happy holidays!))

nancy sat down next to barb on the bleacher. she looked at her best friend's lap to see if the girl had any food. nancy was starving but the line to get anything to eat was huge. barb was so into the game, which was highly unexpected.  realizing barb hadn't got anything to eat, nancy sank back into her seat and looked at the field. she scanned the players for steve harrington. she had mostly come for him, he had invited her earlier by her locker. god he was attractive.

he had leaned into her and smirked, whispering how it'd make him ever so happy if shed come to his game. how could you reject steve? you couldn't. at least nancy couldnt, if steve liked her it'd be great.

she had been lost in thought when suddenly everyone was cheering, so nancy stood up and tried to jump up and down. then, ever so quickly someone's drink flew out of their hands. it flipped and all of the soda from in the cup went all over nancy. it was so so cold, and she felt so all sticky and wet.

nancy turned to look who had done this to her and clenched her jaw. stupid jonathan byers. always screwing everything up! he didn't even look sorry, he resembled a deer in front of a cars headlights. he was such an idiot!

"are you going to just stand there or are you going to apologize!" nancy snapped angerly.
"i-i didn't mean to-"

"you're so dumb! look at what you-! argh!" nancy shook her head in frustration and made her way to look for the nearest bathroom.

jonathan, extremely sorry and confused, sighed and followed after the girl who smelled like cherry soda. he didn't really know how to help. he didn't mean to spill his drink all over her. honestly, she should've looked around before jumping up like a lunatic and bumping into his arm. like, come on. she wasted like, four dollars he had to pay for that drink!

finally nancy found a bathroom and turned around to face jonathan.

"if you want to actually help you'll have to come inside. I don't want to cause a big mess because my fingers are all sticky and I might ruin my clothes even more." nancy told jonathan with a huff. he looked frightened at the idea of going inside of the female restroom. she rolled her eyes and whispered "coward."

jonathan bit his lip and followed wheeler into the bathroom. god this was risky. if a teacher caught him in here... oh god oh god.

"get me some paper towels please." nancy told him as she began taking off her blouse. jonathan swallowed and did so. it wasn't the fact she had taken off her blouse that was making him go red. it's just that this was so embarrassing. plus, now that he wasn't chasing after her or spilling his snack on her outfit, he had noticed that she was actually extremely pretty.

her features resembled a doll, gentle and smooth. and she had these big eyes, they reminded him of an owl. a beautiful owl. nancy took the papers from his hand and began trying to soak as much liquid from her clothes as she could. which looked quite awkward with jonathan just standing there.

"I'm really sorry you know." he finally spoke up.

"it's fine." nancy mumbled not looking at jonathan.

this annoyed jonathan a lot. she couldn't be serious. the girl was acting like a total brat! "clearly you don't think it's fine! you snapped at me in front of everyone. you're acting incredibly rude, and you basically forced me into coming into the girls bathroom just to get you stupid paper towels?" jonathan said shaking his head in disbelief. "it's probably just because you're missing your stupid boyfriends game."

nancy gasped, she was quite offended. even though jonathan actually was right. "me and steve are not dating, jonathan." she scolded.

jonathan laughed and shook his head. "I didn't say anything about harrington. so why was he the first thing that came to your mind when I said that?"

nancy clenched her jaw and rolled her eyes. god she hated jonathan byers. he was so xstupid and... and... how many times had she mentally called him stupid again? maybe she was the stupid one. it hadn't even been jonathan's fault in the first place. nancy should have looked around her before she jumped up and started cheering for the team (more like for steve).

"look, im not mad at you or anything..." she said looking down and sighing out of stress.

"i'm sorry for spilling my drink all over you nancy." jonathan says again, this time you could hear how sincere he was. nancy looks up at him with a half smile.

"it's fine, im just so sticky from the soda. its soda-pressing." she says giggling.

"oh my god, you did not." jonathan replies laughing at the girl's pun. his laugh made the awkward cold air around them melt away. he had such a wonderful laugh. why was nancy even noticing this, what the heck?

they both looked each other in the eye and took in the situation. this hadn't been anyone's fault. neither of them had wanted this to happen, yet here they were fighting and making puns in the women's bathroom. it was kinda odd. and for the first time, nancy was okay that she wasn't out there rooting for steve. she notices jonathan taking off his jacket and looking back at her.

"go change out of that sticky shirt and wear my jacket. you wont feel as gross and it goes quite well with your outfit." he said smirking.

all nancy could do was shake her head chuckling and she took the jacket from jonathan. she stepped into one of the stalls and took off her shirt. it smelled like cherry pop, obviously. then she slipped on jonathans jacket and buttoned it up. it smelled like... him. it was warm and comforting. sorta like your cozy house on a cold winter night. it was an odd way of describing it but that was what jonathan smelled like. nancy stepped outside of the stall and did a little twirl for jonathan to see as he laughed.

"it looks great on you, you can keep it." he said nodding

nancy laughed. "aw, thank you jonathan. i actually do like it a lot." she said smiling. nancy took one last look at herself in the mirror smiling. she looked better than before. wait, she fixed her into a ponytail then smiled. now she looked even better. jonathan didn't look too bad either. she was just now noticing it, but he was quite attractive. kinda like that mysterious hottie type. this gave her an idea. things were going great with steve, him possibly liking her and all and that possibly leading to her being the most popular girl in the grade if they dated. but tonight would've been so boring if jonathan hadn't spilled his drink on her (not his fault, once again). and for some reason she felt like after tonight she might never talk to jonathan again. they just didn't seem like the type of people to become friends. no one knew him. so why not have some fun just for a night? they could go stargazing, or sit on a roof. she wasn't always as daring as she felt right now, but for some reason just the fact she wasnt wearing a shirt under the jean jacket she had on (which wasnt even hers) gave her a weird rush of energy. the type that made her want to do things with someone. and tonight, jonathan was her someone. funny how she thought she hated him earlier. she grinned and motioned for them to get out of the restroom already. they stepped out of the bathroom slowly to make sure no teachers saw them both coming out of one bathroom.

"back to the game?" jonathan asked as they walked.

"no. i'm going somewhere else." nancy responded.

jonathan looked over at her curiously as she turned around and began making her way towards the exit of the school. she looked back in a daring way, making jonathan ask himself one question.

should i stay or should i go?
