I hid the book before heading back to Mark and Jack's room, laying down in bed. Jack automatically cuddled up next to me, half asleep. I wrapped an arm around him and debated whether or not to give Mark his body back, but I was enjoying my time with Jack too much. I ran a hand through his hair and smiled at how soft it was. There's no way I can mimic Jack in another being to claim as my own, but I can't take him for myself.
"You're quiet," Jack noticed.
"Sorry, love, I was just thinking about us," I chuckled softly, not entirely lying.
"Nothing bad, right?"
"Of course not. You're perfect," I smiled at him and he blushed deeply, trying to hide his face in my arm, but I grabbed his head and made him look up at me. "You're blushing."
"Am not."
"Are too and it's adorable," I laughed and he pouted playfully and yawned. "You're tired, sweetheart, go to sleep."
"I'm not tired."
"You're so oppositional," I smiled hard, finding his cuteness unbearable.
"No, I just don't want to stop talking to you!" He exclaimed and grinned. "I don't want to stop looking at your kissable face either."
"If it's so kissable, why don't you kiss it?" I raised my eyebrows and he tackled me, kissing all over my face, sitting on my waist and smiling at me after the kiss-attack.
"Happy?" He giggled and I nodded.
"Always when I'm with you."
"You're cheesy today, aren't you?" He asked and I shrugged, Jack laying down next to me.
"Maybe just a little bit," I smiled and turned onto my side to face him as he did the same. He pecked me lightly on the lips and scooted closer to me, letting me wrap my arm around him.
"I love you," He murmured and snuggled up to me.
"I love you too," I replied automatically without thinking. If Mark knew I was pretending to be him and cuddling up to Jack, he'd be pissed and rightfully so. It wasn't my place to act this way towards Jack, but I can't help myself. I'm longing for whatever it is he and Mark has, I want this closeness - I want someone for myself, someone I can be with and raise hell with whenever we wanted. I wish I wasn't damned to be a demon and was human again.
I realized Jack had fallen asleep and waited for a few minutes, listening to him breath softly. I found comfort in this moment and knew I had to do something to get what I want. I gently started to take my arm off Jack and wiggle away from him, pausing every now and then to make sure I hadn't woken him up. It'd be harder to explain why I was getting up again if he woke and managed to get off the bed without disturbing him. I left the room and went back to the book, sitting on the couch in the living room. I opened it and searched the table of contents, not wanting to waste time reading things I didn't need to know. I found what I was searching for and went to the desired page, beginning to read.
'How to: Find Love as a Demon
There are several different ways to find a mate as a demon, the easiest of which dating as a normal human would. It's easy to find a simple mate, but not so much true love. If you are searching for a soulmate, you must find one that your human loves as well and their partner can accept into their own body.
A demon is an entity without a body and their form depends on what they wish to look like - most likely they take on looking like their human counterpart. It's nearly impossible for your human to find another human with a demon in them that works out perfectly. 9 times out of 10, it's more likely that you will need to create your own demon that can adapt to your human partner's body. Using a demon that already exists is more dangerous and can kill the human - and in some extreme cases, also kill the demon trying to possess the human.
Creating a demon is done traditionally by a witch, but it is possible for another demon to create it, which would make it their perfect soulmate if done successfully. If this route is chosen, you will need a human that you like - one with a personality you see yourself compatible with - and take their essence. The human will live afterwards, but they will seem as though they don't have a soul - which they no longer do. You will need to put a piece of your own soul along with the humans, though as a demon, you will not change, only suffer through the pain of removing a part of your being.
After you have obtained the pieces of the souls, there are two ways to combine them and finish creating the demon. You can either find a vessel that will die after the demon is created or simply go to Hell and purchase a charmed jar that will slowly create the demon, but this process takes a few days to complete. Once finished, the demon is complete and will not know who you are, even if you are well-acquainted with the human whose essence you've stolen. You are to name them and you will easily bond with one another and with your human.
Creating a demon may seem difficult, but it can be done if directions are closely followed. Human souls are easier to toy with than it may seem and this will overall help you find your perfect match. If you do not wish to create your own demon, you can read up on how to find a witch and use one in the next section.-'
I stopped reading and closed the book, knowing this was perfect. I was going to get my soulmate one way or another.
