Caloa enters her apartment, closing and locking the door behind her. She sighs and runs a hand through her hair, walking through her apartment to her room. She unbuttons the top of her shirt before pulling out a notebook from her back pocket and flips through the pages until she finds the sketch of Lilith's torso, breasts, markings and all. She traces a finger over the strokes of charcoal before sighing and moving to open one of the drawers in her dresser. Her eyes go wide however, when she finds a black envelope inside with her name written in bright red ink on the front.

She quickly grabs it and looks around her apartment, before ripping open the envelope and pulling out a piece of black parchment paper and a pair of ruby-red stud earrings inside. She reads the the words on the letter before she sits down on her bed with a smile and puts the studs on. Then she seems to realize something and re-reads the letter before running out of her apartment.

Zuri, with tears in his eyes, puts on the same studs in his room at Eden Academy. Ayperos and Wolfram slide bracelets woven with ruby-red beads onto their wrists. Joyce and Si pull on necklaces of the same style. Graeme pins on a ruby broche. Koli and Brendan put on hoop earrings of the same ruby-red colour.

At the Royal Palaces, the Head Royals put on the same gifts. Itzal and Ravana place the hoop earrings in, Tien and Rangda wear the necklaces, Lykaon puts in the studs.

They all read the same note with tears in their eyes:

"Thank you for your love

--- Lilith"

And on the bottom right of the paper, right after Lilith's name, is a blood-red kiss-mark.

I will be writing a prequel book to Queen of Cursed Hearts called "Before the Crown", that follows Lilith before going to Eden Academy.
