Btw there's a bit of Italian in this chapter but I tried to write it so that you can understand what they're talking about.. Happy reading!(:

"Here.. Sausage roll. Sit. I will tell you story." Chelsea offers us a platter piled high with one of my favorite things.. Sausage rolls!
Our chairs screech against the black and white tile floor as Sonya and I pull them over to a iron table with a glass plate on top, the iron fancifully twisted to mimic climbing vines. When Sonya and I sit down and start to eat, Chelsea starts telling us the story.
"Bene.. When your.. How you say.. Great great great great great great nonna Kathleen was little girl, she play dressing up in her Mami's room. She found certain necklace, pendant. This pendant, very special. It was the stone of elements. There are certain stones in this world, they will give you powers. Some, they are wise. Only do good. But some, they don't know what they are doing. Like Kathleen. Wasn't properly trained so she was molto molto pericoloso.. Ehmm.. Dangerous." With her thick Italian accent, I'm not gonna lie! Half the time I didn't even know what Chelsea was saying! She's pronouncing all the th's as d's and the w's as v's. But because it's about my family, I strain even harder to listen to Chelsea's story.
"The thing is, with the pendants, once the true heir of the stone wears it, never can be taken off. If you cannot control it or using power for evil.. Echh. Talia. Be careful. You might do more damage than good." Chelsea leans across the table, the most serious I've ever seen anyone in my life.
Because I felt like I should probably acknowledge her warning and everything else, I whisper promised, "I won't."
"Bueno. Take rolls and cookies for home!" Chelsea got up from the table and brushed her hands off on her spotty apron, a satisfied look on her face.
I look at my watch and realize that it's the exact time I'm supposed to meet Mom and Connie! Yes! I get my hair streaked!
"Thank you Chelsea! The rolls were delicious!" I give her a smile.
Chelsea holds out a white paper bag with rolls and cookies in it. As I reach to get it, Chelsea pulls me into a tight, reassuring hug.
"Be careful, Talia." She whispers in my ear, then lets me go.
