The next morning I wake up with a big smile on my face. Ah, I love Seabrook already. Super friendly people, super cute clothes.. And a super close first day of school. Ugh. And there goes my smile. School are almost always the worst part of moving around. I'm always the new girl in the midst of people who have been in the same class since preschool.. Yah, not so fun. Oh I remember this one time in grade 4, I moved in the middle of the school year and there was a girl named like Sasha or something and she made up this thing that I was a witch. It seemed like the end of the world then because no one would sit with me. But in the end it didn't matter 'cause we moved like a month later. Anyway, point is, schools + moving = no go.
I get up and walk into my closet.. Yup into. Still can't get over that. But an empty walk in closet is so much less impressive. Which is exactly what I am looking at..
"MOOOOOMMMM???? WHERE DID WE PUT MY CLOTHESS??" I yell, hoping she would hear me, sleepily rubbing my eyes.
"UHH I THINK WE LEFT THEM IN THE CAR HONEY. DO YOU WANT ME TO GO GET THEM?" Mom yells back.
"NO THAT'S OK. I'LL GO GET THEMM!" I turn to go get the clothes.
"OH AND SWEETIE? NEXT TIME YOU NEED SOMETHING COME DOWNSTAIRS. I DON'T APPRECIATE ALL THIS YELLING!" Mom yells back at me as I roll my eyes and head for the door.
Sure enough, when I trek down our new paved driveway towards the car, I spot the brightly colored corners of my plastic bags peeking out of the truck window. I press a button on the car key that I grabbed coming out of the house to unlock the car. With A LOT of effort, I load the bajillion bags into my arms and stumble my way back up the driveway, all the way back to the house.
When Connie hears me come back into the house, coming come galloping down the stairs, two plush covered stairs at a time.
"DIDJOOGITMINE??!" Connie asks me, the words coming out of her mouth so fast they all blur together.
"Uhh.. Was I supposed to understand that?" I shoot her a confused look. Plus, how in the heck is she this energized in like 9 in the morning??I practically still have drool in the corner of my mouth. Not actually. That would be grody.
"I saiddd.." Connie takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, as if in frustration. Um no. If anyone's frustrated here, it's me. "Did you, get mine?"
"Your clothes? Nooo. What am I, your slave?" I roll my eyes and start dragging my many bags up the stairs.
"But.. I can't carry all my heavy bags all the way up the driveway, all alone! I could.. Get hurt!" She does puppy eyes at me.
"Ahahahah.. No." I continue tugging my bags up the stairs.
"Some slave you are!" Connie spins on her heel and half stomps out the door.
Drama queen, I think as I shake my head and carry on with my mission.
