By the time Anakin arrived, inexplicably quick, not to mention --
She was delusional.
Before he had pulled her blood-smeared body out of the flipped-over car, Padmé was pretty positive she caught a glimpse of a glowing-blue sword, but she could be wrong.
Who knew, she, again, didn't have a clue of the happenings around her.
And she was also sure she'd seen an alien girl alongside Anakin who'd had tail-like things growing from her head in place of her hair.
That seemed weird, though, but then again, after everything Anakin had told her and showed her, including a massive spaceship landed in the middle of the woods, she could very well be living in a world from the science fiction movies amongst galactic creatures and aliens without ever knowing it before.
She woke up thinking these things, thoughts rushing through her mind. Not long after she opened her eyes, though, she did realize she was back at home, lying in her bed, all tucked in underneath her sheets, just like normal.
Except it wasn't normal.
Nothing was.
Everything was out of place, and she had to make it right again.
Well, not again. Finally.
She had to make everything right again, finally.
She had to finally make it right.
So, obviously she tried to get up, because she couldn't finally make things right from her bed. But the problem was, she couldn't get up.
Come on. Yet another thing gone wrong, which wasn't helping things go right.
Okay, Plan B.
Anakin has to be around here somewhere.
"Anakin!" she yelled. "Anakin!" She tried to move, but instead cringed and pulled back again. It hurt to move.
That's because, when she looked down at her body, her arm was in a sling with a cast and so was he foot, and she had a wrap around her ribcage.
Well, this is great.
"Anakin Skywalkerrrrrr!"
"I'm coming!" she could hear his voice yell back, and he ran in, dashing straight to her side to aid her. "Oh, thank the stars you're okay," she sighed, out of breath from rushing his way into her room. The stars? Who thanks the stars, she thought. He held her behind her neck, then leaned forward as if he were going to kiss her.... and then he didn't, doing just the opposite, pulling away instead as if he changed his mind.
Her heart sank in disappointment.
He met eyes with her, sitting back in the edge of the bed. "I thought...."
"You thought.... what?"
"Padmé," Anakin said, looking at her, directly in the eyes," I thought I was going to lose you. And I'm so glad I didn't." He laid his hands on her shoulders. "Thank you for calling. I would hate myself if you didn't, because.... I would know I could've saved you."
She nodded slowly. "Thank you. And I'm sorry. So sorry." She looked down. "It's all my fault, really."
Then he looked at her like she was crazy. "The car crash? Your fault?"
She sighed looking back up at him. "No, just.... how I reacted to what you showed me, stuff like that.... just, everything! I'm so sorry, Anakin. I've been such an idiot."
"It's not your fault."
They were silent for a few moments, just thinking.
"Padmé?"
"Yes?"
"Are you ready to, um.... hear everything, finally? Hear the truth?"
Padmé sighed. "Yes. Yes, Anakin, I'm ready for the truth."
