New Game

Chapter 8

  Mother and I are now fighting on this weird rainbow bridge which is kind of cool. We head towards this big giant yellow shiny building at the other end of the rainbow bridge. Mother swears that's the way out of here but I have no idea. We fight our way towards the building and finally guards stop coming.

  We look at each other with big smiles on our faces as we try to catch our breath. "I guess we beat them all," I say.

  Mother nods her head and we race towards the building. We enter the building and this man with dark skin and golden eyes in shiny golden armor turns to look at us. I get in a fighting stance, the last guard. Mother smiles and the man nods his head towards her. I look at them both, confused. Why is she smiling?

   The man places a sword into this strange thing in the middle of the room and the walls start moving. I look around with wide eyes. "Back to Earth?" the mans asks.

"Yes. We want to go home," Mother says with a lost smile.

  I look back at where we came and groan. Loki is running towards us and enters the building just as the door closes. "Where do you think you're going?" Loki demands.

"Going home!" I snarl at Loki.

"Not if I can stop it," Loki says.

   I get in a fighting stance and ready myself. I feel a soft hand on my should and look to see Mother standing beside me. "No, Kyra. I will deal with him."

  I look at Mother and then nod my head. I straighten and stand back for Mother to take on Loki. Mother steps forward and fires multiple red shots at Loki. Loki dodges each shot and fires a single white light at Mother from his scepter. Mother moves to get out of the way but isn't fast enough. The blast hits her directly in the chest and she goes sailing across the room.

"NO!" I scream and run to her side.

  Mother pushes my hands away and stands on shaky knees. She spits blood out of her mouth and fires a large blast of red at Loki with a hurtful scream. The dark skinned man yells, "Almost ready!"

  Loki jumps to the side and fires another shot at Mother who dodges this time. She races towards Loki and makes red armor appear on her. She jumps into the air and raises her fist at Loki and delivers a blow. Loki raises his scepter and blocks the blow with it. They snarl at each other until Loki thrusts the scepter forward, pushing Mother away from him.

  Mother looks at him. She screams and races at him again with her fist raised high. Loki smiles and fires a white shot at Mother. The shot hits her in the arm, burning the skin and the clothing on the arm. I smell the aroma of burnt skin and clothing. I crack my knuckles but remain on the sidelines, no matter how much it kills me.

  Mother screams from the pain but keeps running. Loki fires another shot and hits her leg. She tenses as the shot hits her and starts limping but keeps running at him. Loki fires three more which hit her right in the chest. Mother falls to her knees with blood everywhere on her body. Slowly, Loki walks up to her.

"MOM!"

  I run towards them. I summon my power. Two blue knives appear in my hands as I run towards them. Mother says something to Loki. I can't hear what she's saying but it made Loki laugh. Loki kicks Mother into the circle part of the wall and she 's surrounded by blinding blue light. I run after her and reach for her as she reaches for me. She smiles at me with tears in her eyes and fires red mist at me. My eyes widen as I feel the mist enter my body and mix with the blue power already deep inside me. Then, Mother disappears in the blinding light.

  Someone grabs ahold of me and thrusts me away from the circle wall. I scream and kick. The hands let go of me and I turn around and freeze. His long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes stare back at me. His metal arm gleams in the light. He's wearing his Winter Soldier gear and stares at me. My breath stops. "Bucky."
