Many people believe that otherkin is simply relating to an animal, plant, etc. That is not true. But while relating to something other than humans is not otherkin, there is a term for it.
If you are otherhearted, you do not identify as a nonhuman being, but with one. For example, a wolf therian's identity is indeed a wolf, someone who is wolfhearted feels that while they are still mentally and spiritually human, they highly relate to wolves for whatever reason. Maybe they relate to the wolf's social nature or its energy or whatever.
It is possible to be otherhearted and otherkin at the same time.
