Chapter 4 - Not Home

Vanoss's POV

*Flash Back*

"Come here boy.." The Great Owl called me over to his throne. I placed down my toys, and waddled on over to him. My gaze looked up at him, they were big and curious as I looked up at him. He chuckled at me, and picked me up. His dark amber eyes looked right into mine as he sat me on his lap.

"You know... You will be sitting on this throne when you become a powerful, and bigger owl." My eyes looked up at the golden chair that almost seemed to touch the ceiling. My hand brushed against the arm of the chair, my eyes still filled with curiosity. The golden arm was cold, and it was really smooth. I don't get why he could even sit here all the time.

"And I hope you will treat the people with respect, and love.." He smiled at me, then poked my nose. I slid off of his lap, and stood in front of him. My wings parted, and were spread out. I saluted to him, puffing my chest out.

"Alright, I will, I promise! I won't let you down!" I giggled, then waddled back over to him. I stood on my tippy toes, pulled his head towards mine, and pressed my forehead against his. He chuckled, nuzzling my face softly and lovingly.

"That's my boy.."

I stared out the window and at the passing buildings. It has been a while since I've been on Earth. Everything was so.. Different now. I glanced over at the man who was driving. The guy in the car was silent, his face looked serious and focused. His eyes glimmered as if they were excited in a way. Wonder why..

"Hey.. Where are you taking me?" I blinked at him in confusion. He looked at me for a couple seconds then back to the road.

"Back to my place. I mean, where else?" His eyebrow raised. To his place? I suddenly gave my full attention to him. Shocked by his words. There is no way in hell I would be going there! I have a realm to get back to!

"Back to my home..! I really need to get back to Owl Realm, my people need me! The Great Owl needs me!" I gripped onto his arm. He shook me off of him, then frowned.

"Stop it you asshole! You're gonna be the reason that we crash..!" He shook his head slowly. I backed off then went back to looking out the window. I can't simply go back with you to your place... I don't even know you, plus my people do really need me. He then let out a a sudden sigh.

"Look... I'm not sure what type of drugs you've been taking, or on at the moment.." He then said, glancing over at me, then quickly back to the road.

"But, let's pass the time by playing a game. It's called, 'Getting to Know'. I ask a question, you answer it, and then you ask me a question, and I answer it, ok?" He raised his brow. It sounds like a stupid game.. But as long as it passes time.

"Alright then." I sighed, my gaze still looking out the window. Silence suddenly filled the small area. Then...

"What's your real name? I know it's not Evan.. I just made it up, cause you look like one." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Vanoss. But I guess my Earth name could be Evan." I shrugged my shoulders at him. The name didn't really bother me really bad, and also I do need a Earth name. Vanoss is just really weird to call a normal person of Earth.

"What's your name?" I raised my brow at him.

"Jonathan. But most call me Delirious, even my doctors do." Delirious said with a slight smile. The smile was a slight twisted smile, and it made him look very scary..
