Unexpected Love

I raised my hand with my light brown eyes looking forward at the teacher.

" Kenya" Mr. Wheeler called my name.

" William Shakespeare is a wonderful man and wrote amazing plays but they are all so weird. Was there something wrong with him?" I asked.

I was sitting in English class, which I highly enjoyed. I sat in the very front as I always did for every class. I heard others snicker and make remarks about me. My teacher ignored it since that was normal whenever I asked a question or even spoke. My best friend Sarah turned around and with her death glare everybody silenced. Sarah had that effect on people. She's absolutely gorgeous and really nice but she's the kind of person that if you get on her bad side she will beat the living day light out of you. She's an athlete of just about every sport so she's really fit and has muscle but in a sexy way for a girl. I don't really remember how we became friends. We are complete opposites. She's tough and outgoing while I'm soft and really shy. The only time I talk in school is with Sarah, teachers, or when I'm apologizing to someone else for something I didn't even do. Sarah is tan, with long straight blonde hair and deep blue eyes that guys get lost in while I am not pale but close to it. I have brown wavy hair that goes half way down my back and my eyes are a dull light brown that people rarely see because I usually have my head down to avoid eye contact with people.

The bell rang and I quickly put my stuff in my bags and rushed out of the classroom to my locker. Sarah met me there and I closed my locker looking at her.

" Thanks. Once again" I told her in my small voice.

" Stop thanking me. You know I hate that." she said with a smile.

I smiled and she slung her arm around my shoulders and we walked out of the school and into the parking lot.

" I can't wait to leave this shit hole" Sarah said.

I laughed and she unlocked her car and we got in.

" I love school but you only have a couple more days. Summer is coming and you will have months to just relax" i said fastening my seat belt.

It was hot and sticky outside and the leather of the seat burned my skin. I cranked the air conditioning and she pulled out of the parking lot.

" Can't wait. Endless days to just relax and sleep and chill with my best friend." She said with much excitement.

I smiled and looked out the window.

" I have to study during the summer though. I'm going to college and I dont wanna be brain dead when I go. You sure you still dont want to go to college?"

I could hear her trying not to laugh.

" You know damn well I'm not going to college. Even if I wanted to I couldn't with my grades and record." She said.

I looked at her and smiled.

" I have no idea why we are friends." I said.

She looked at me and smiled, flashing her pearly whites.

" Because you love me darling. Plus even the shyest person like you has to have a friend." she teased me.

I rolled my eyes and opened my mouth to respond when suddenly my head hit the dashboard hard. I looked up holding my head and looked at Sarah. I could see terror in her eyes and everything was starting to black out.

" Kenya. Kenya. Kenya answer me!" I could hear Sarah yelling my name.

Sirens were blaring, sounding as if they were coming closer and closer. Voices screaming and shouting. A person crying in my ear.

" You are ok. Open your eyes. Answer you fucking bitch!" She was sobbing. Crying angrily.

Then the world went completely black and I couldn't hear anything any longer.
