Unexpected Love

Chapter 5

I was sitting on the couch in the living room of my house. I looked at my phone and saw I had no messages or missed called.
I didn't know when he was going to call and frankly, I was anxious.
I have been replaying that conversation in my mind all day, thinking about how his eyes looked into mine.
I smiled to myself.
" Hey mom. Dad. Sarah. Can you come in here?" I said.
They all came in from the kitchen and looked at me curiously.
" So I talked to Caleb today at lunch." I said.
I haven't told Sarah so she looked at me curiously.
" Uh, we um, talked for a while. And then he asked me to go to the movies with him. With his friends too." I added the last part quickly.
My dad shrugged and said it was fine but my mom and Sarah looked unsure.
" Please mom. It'll only be for a couple hours. And he invited Sarah too." I said.
I looked at Sarah with pleading eyes and she looked back at me giving in but saying with her eyes that I owe her.
I smiled brightly and my mom sighed and gave in.
" What time?" She asked.
Just then Caleb called and I picked up.
" Hey" I said.
" Hey. The movie is at 5" he said.
Hearing his voice made me blush and I looked down quickly and let my hair fall across my face. I looked at the clock quickly and saw that it was 4 o'clock.
" Ok. Sarah's coming along." I said.
" Alright. Well I will pick you up in twenty minutes. Is that ok?" He said.
I could hear him doing something in the background and wonder what he was doing.
" Yeah that's fine"
I told him my address and hung up.
"He will be here in twenty to pick me and Sarah up." I said, getting up.
"Alright"
My parents said together and I smiled. I loved it when they did that.
I kissed them both on the cheek and walked up stairs with Sarah following me. As soon as she closed the door she faced me but I pretended to be looking for something.
" Why am I just finding out?" She asked.
I put on a pair of light denim skinny jeans and a plain yellow tshirt.
" I forgot" I said lamely.
She rolled her eyes then hurry up and put on a pair of my jeans and a tshirt.
We both walked into the bathroom and I brushed my hair and put it in a ponytail. I looked at myself and turned away.
I looked at Sarah while she put on eye liner.
Where she had the stitches had now turned into a faint scar that I can tell she had been putting cream on to make it gone forever.
" Atleast there will be cute guys. Him being popular and all" she blinked several times and looked at her self approvingly.
" You owe me still though" she said, glaring at me.
" Why do you hate him so much?" I asked.
But before she could answer I hear a car beep it's horn and I quickly put on sneakers and slipped my phone into my pocket.
We walked downstairs and I told my parents we were leaving.
" Come straight home" My mom said.
I left with Sarah and Caleb smiled.
"You can get in the front Kenya." he said.
I smiled back and looked down as I walked to the front and got in.
I strapped up and Sarah strapped herself in the back.
" Sarah." he said.
" Caleb." she replied.
He began driving and we drove in silence. I wanted to put music on but felt like it would be rude so I just looked out the window.
When we got there I saw a bunch of hot jocks standing outside of the theatre and I turned to look at Sarah.
She was smiling at me lightly.
He parked and got out. He opened the door for me and I blushed uncontrollably.
I murmered thanks and he opened the door for Sarah.
She grunted a thanks and didn't even wait for us. She walked quickly to the guys and I could see the lust in all of their eyes. Letting their eyes wander over her body. We walked slowly and in silence to meet up with them. I enjoyed the silence though. It was comforting. I liked his presence.
When we got to the register I realized I forgot to bring money and Sarah too. One of the guys payed for Sarah and Caleb payed for me.
" I'm sorry. I will pay you back." I said embarrassed.
He looked at me and smiled.
" I asked you to come. You don't need to pay me back. Do you want popcorn, a drink, anything?" I felt guilty but I asked for a coke and popcorn. He bought a large popcorn for us to share and our own drinks. I looked for Sarah but it seemed as if they all already went and took a seat. We walked into our theatre and I tried to find them but it was packed and dark already because the movie already started.
We ended up picking a seat in the middle and when I sat down he handed me my drink and set the popcorn on his knee so we both could eat it.
The movie was a comedy and every now and then he would laugh which made me smile.
I looked over at him admiring his smile and the way his chest moved while he laughed.
He caught me several times staring at him and smiled at me.
Every time he caught me I blushed and looked at the screen feeling stupid.
I don't know what it is about him. The first time I saw him I just felt complete in this weird way. His eyes were perfect. His face. His lips. His body. His smile. His laugh.
Just all of him.

"Thanks for the night Caleb. I had a great time." I said, looking down, smiling to myself.
We were sitting in his car out front of my house. We couldnt find Sarah and that guy so we assumed they left earlier. I made myself a mental note to ask her later.
The movie seemed so short and we got here way too fast. The movie was hilarious and on the way back I couldn't stop talking about it.
I looked up and met his gaze and my heart skipped a beat.
He was looking at me with those eyes of his. The sun was setting so there was a pinkish orangish color to his skin.
" I had a great time too." he said softly.
He shifted in his seat and we were so close. He was so close that I could feel his breath.
We just stayed like that for what seemed forever.
He brought a hand to my face, moving a strand of hair that had became loose from my ponytail.
" You're beautiful" he whispered.
I blushed and he chuckled.
" I love it when you bush." he said with a smile which made me blush even deeper.
I looked up and he kissed me.
His lips were perfect and the kiss was warm and slow.
It tasted like butter from the popcorn but I didn't mind.
He pulled back too soon and I couldn't help smiling like a fool.
He was smiling too.
" Goodnight" he whispered.
My heart was still pounding in my chest and opened my mouth to say goodnight back but couldn't speak.
He laughed softly and I blushed.
I quickly got out before I could embarrass myself any more. I walked to my door and unlocked it.
I turned back around a waved slightly and I saw him wave back.
He waited until I was inside before he drove off.
