"Mom! Calm down. Before you burst an artery." I said after the hundredth time she shouted at me about going away without telling her.

"If I did it would be because of your utter carelessness! You didn't even think of telling me you would be gone for a whole weekend in a whole other town! What were you thinking? And you didn't even have the audacity to at least tell me you were with Ezra or even with Emma! You just up and left! What? Am I not your mother anymore? Or did you forget that I'm supposed to take care of you?" She kept going.

Emma, by the way, was another friend of mine.

We met when I was in Primary School and we've been friends ever since. My mother though, detested her. According to mom she was a "bad influence" and I "should stay away from her".

The fact that she brought up Emma showed me that she was really mad.

"Oh, so now you want me to lie to you? And Emma? You hate Emma. I have to lie to you anyway every time I go. So what's the big deal?" I replied, beginning with a snort.

She did not like that. Her eyes looked like they were about to burst out of her head.

"The big deal is that I need to know if you're going to a secluded lake house for an entire weekend all by yourself! What were you thinking Anna?" She retorted.

"I wasn't completely alone. Ezra came through yesterday." I replied.

Her whole face went white when I said that. It looked like I was in for some big trouble.

"You mean you were alone? With a boy? For a whole weekend? And what exactly, may I ask, were you two even doing?"

"Nothing." I said shortly.

"I highly doubt a boy and girl who look at each other the way you and Ezra do did nothing a whole weekend alone by yourself." She said in a sarcastic tone.

My heart melted when she said that. I didn't know that she noticed anything. She was so quiet about it. This is the first time she said anything.

You mean he was really that obvious? And I never noticed?

" You knew about Ezra and me?" I asked in a small voice.

"Oh you mean Mr. and Miss. Obvious? Yeah, I noticed more than that." She said sarcastically again.

"How long was it?" I asked, my voice almost cracking.

"How long was what?" She asked me.

"How long did he like me?"

"Anna...you really didn't know? Honey, that boy has been having eyes for you ever since you met at that stupid playground. If I didn't know better I would say it was love at first sight. Sweetie, you and that boy are bound to end up together somehow." She said in a gentle voice. She came to sit next to me and took my small hand in hers.

"Mom, we already did. This weekend when he came to visit me. He told me he loved me." I informed her.

"Honey! That's fantastic!" She suddenly burst out and hugged me tightly to her frail chest.

Say what you want about my mother, but she was a huge romantic. She loved when couples ended up together.

"You're grounded though." She said when she let go. But even with those words out she could still not keep a straight face.

"Okay, mom."

That night when I headed up to my room, I felt a new positivity in me. He loves me. He's loved me for ten years.

When I entered my room, I quickly threw myself on the blue dotted covers and I slept for a glorious hour before I woke up from a soft tapping on my bedroom window. I thought for a moment that it was just starting to rain and when I turned around to once again, strangle my pillow to death, I heard an even harder tap and it was then that I got really scared.

Standing up from my bed, I retrieved an old lamp that was collecting dust in my room and I headed to the window.

Opening it slowly, I felt a cold waft coming through my window and I wanted desperately to get back into the warm safety of my bed.

But, alas, I couldn't.

Looking down, I saw a figure with a gray hoodie under his leather jacket standing and hugging himself looking up at me with the most hopeful of eyes.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him, trying to hide my smile.

"I missed you." Ezra replied, a pleading in his voice.

My heart melted. "Well then come up."

Before, I could turn around though to open the front door for him, he was scaling my house's wall like Romeo Montague looking for his Juliet.

"What are you doing? If someone sees you now, they'll call the Police." I said, nervously.

"Good thing I'm not breaking in then. I'm being led in by my girlfriend through her bedroom window." He said with a sweet and cocky smile on his lips.

"You should be grateful. Not scaling my walls." I said and laughed.

"What if I want to scale your walls though?" He said when he reached the top, faster than I anticipated.

"I might allow it on one condition." I said, smiling at him.

"And what would the beautiful Princess Anna want?" He asked me with a slight blush on his face.

"A kiss." I replied, blushing too.

He quickly jumped into my room and before I could close the window he took me into his arms and kissed me like there was no tomorrow.

His lips on mine felt like they belonged there and my heart leaped when he took me into his strong arms.

He quickly stopped for breath and looked at me.

"I didn't want to sleep without you next to me." He said and I kissed him again.
