So! It seems like all is well, Lukas is ok, the others are probably beating up monsters and doing well at it. But what kind of story would this be if everything was perfect? Let's see what my mind can come up with...😈
-----------------------------------
(Jesse POV)
I woke up in our makeshift shelter, and for a moment, confusion filled my mind. Where was I?
Then last nights events flashed back into my head. Aiden... Falling into the void... Finding Lukas...
Wait... Lukas?!I turned to look at the blonde haired boy sleeping next to me. Placing a hand on his head, I was relieved to find that he didn't have a fever from lying in the rain.
My gaze travelled round our makeshift shelter. Dirt.To be fair, we didn't have anything else really.
'Something is missing' my brain told me.
That's right... Aiden wasn't sleeping in here too. So where did he go?Aiden... the leader of the group that has more than once tried to kill us. The enemy.
Or is he?
I mean... he tried to save me, and he helped me look after Lukas!
A noise outside pulled me out of my thoughts. Monsters, was my first reaction.Grabbing a bow off the ground, that was coincidentally, also dirt, I kicked the door open and came out weapon first.
"Stay back, monsters! I-I um.. I have a bow!"
But looking round, I could see no living thing, monsters or otherwise. (Do mobs count as living things??)"Wow. Soooo scary!" A sarcastic filled voice rang out behind me, causing me to load my bow, and spin around to locate the source of the voice.
My gaze landed on Aiden, sitting on the roof of our dirt shelter, legs dangling down, a smirk painted on his face. I lowered my bow.
He held a cookie in his hand."No, I'm being serious here." He jumped down off the roof, and stretched out, yawning as he did so. "That was the most scary thing I've seen since forever."
He held out a cookie, the smirk still present. "Perhaps this can be a peace offering?"I let out a smirk of my own, and grabbed the cookie, slipping it into my pocket as I held my bow up again.
"Nah." I grinned. "It's gonna take more than that for a peace offering to be accepted. Another three cookies might do the trick.""But-" Aiden shoved his cookie into his mouth. "Tha wa the las one." He mumbled, his mouth full.
"Ok, one? Don't talk with your mouth full mister. It's disgusting. Two, I don't believe you. You must have some food somewhere.""How di-" he paused to swallow. "How did you know I had more food?" He took some bread out of his pocket.
"I didn't. But thanks for proving my theory was correct. Actually, both theories."
"Wait, what?" Aiden tilted his head confused. "Two?"
"Yeah, two." I nodded. "Firstly, you probably have enough food to last you all week." I ignored his cries of protest and continued. "Secondly, you are seriously easy to trick. So easy, it's funny."He stared at me, a deadpan look on his face. "So hilarious," he commented, sarcasm dripping from his words.
That, oddly enough, was the thing that made me laugh.
I don't even think Axel scaring Olivia has made me laugh that much.
