Advice || Jennifer Lawrence & Josh Hutcherson Oneshot

Josh's POV

We were about one month in filming The Hunger Games, and everyone was getting along just fine. I mean, I loved everyone here but there was one person who caught my eye as soon as she walked into training, Jennifer. She is so beautiful, even with her hair tied up and when she’s in her gym clothes. I fell for her as soon as she walked in the room and I did my best to hide it, but I would always watch her. Liam would joke about how I’m a bit distracted, but I just ignored him.

A couple of times I’d catch her looking over at me, at first my eyes meeting hers was quite awkward but now we’d just flash eachother a smile or a wave. We’d become great friends, and were excited to be shooting four movies together. I was interrupted in my trail of thought when someone hugged me from behind, I jumped a little and turned around and saw her… Jennifer.

"Hey there," I said, trying to gather my thoughts together as turn around and hugged her back. She looked excited and I began to get confused, "What’s got you on a hype?" I asked her, raising my eyebrows. Then I remembered… of course, the cave scene was getting filmed today. But why was she so excited? I didn’t really want to ask her, but I really wanted to know… "Cave scene?" I said with a confused look. She laughed, "It’s one of the best scenes in the book!" I just nodded in agreement and then Gary, the director, called us over to him.

"Hey guys, remember for the cave scene kiss; Katniss isn’t too sure if she is actually doing it for the games or not and this is her first kiss," Jennifer nodded, "And although Peeta is madly inlove with Katniss, he is still unsure about why she’s acting the way she is. So, not too intimate, okay?" We both seemed to blush at the last comment, I smiled at Gary and he walked away to talk to the crew members. "Not to intimate, Jen," I teased. She hit me on the arm playfully and went to run her lines through with Gary to check if the way she was saying them was okay. I, on the other hand, was fine with my lines and went to see the other cast members who were on a break. I sat down with Alexander, Jackie, Amandla and Willow and noticed that Isabelle was sitting by herself. "What’s up with Isabelle?" I asked, they all shrugged so, being the nice guy I am, I went over and sat opposite her.

"What’s up, Isabelle?" I asked her before taking a drink of my water. She sighed, "They cut one of my scenes, and I thought I did great in it." Anger flickered in her eyes, "I did some awesome combat in it too, I wish they’d cut some other boring scene." I rubbed her arm reassuringly, "You have plenty of other amazing scenes that can’t get cut, you know," I told her, "They may put it in the deleted scenes part of the DVD. You never know." She nodded, "Yeah whatever." I sighed, "What’s wrong, Josh?" I looked her in the eye and thought for a moment, I might aswell tell her. "I like someone… in the cast and I’m not sure how to tell her or ask her out." She looked at me and raised an eyebrow, "Would that someone happen to be Jen?" I froze for a moment, then nodded slowly. "I knew it," She muttered, "We all knew Josh. We always caught you staring at her." I blushed and she sighed, "Just ask her out for dinner or something? Get some… I don’t know… get some of her favourite flowers or chocolates and ask her to dinner. Or to watch a movie. You know her best Josh, take her out and do her favourite things with her." Taking Isabelle’s advice on board, I headed to set after hair and make-up for the cave scene. I smiled at Jen and took my position on the cave floor. 

The scene was going great, and it was time for the kiss. As Peeta, I wasn’t allowed to touch her or anything so I lay there staring into her eyes. I delivered my line, “Why are you doing this?” And then it happened, she leaned in and kissed me. It was magical. Lucky for me, we got to do the scene a few times. I had kissed her atleast four or five times before the director cut for the day. I left set and cleaned myself up, and changed into some jeans and a tshirt. I paced my room thinking about asking Jennifer out, then finally I built up the courage and headed to her trailer.

I knocked a few times and she opened up almost immediately, I swallowed and wandered inside. “Hey Josh,” she said, hugging me. I hugged her back, tightly and then smiled at her. “Hi Jen, the cave scene went well, don’t you think?” I asked, trying to make casual conversation. “I think it went great, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they want us to do some more takes tomorrow.” She told me as she walked over to her couch. I followed her and sat beside her, we sat in silence for a few moments and then I turned to her. “Jen, will you go out with me?” I asked, all of a sudden, “I-I mean like, on a date…”

She looked at me in shock, not saying anything. “Like you could come and watch a movie or we could-” I was stopped when I felt her lips pressed against mine. While I was concentrated on how to ask her, she had wrapped her arms around my neck and started to kiss me. I kissed back without hesistation, once we pulled back from eachother she started laughing. “What?” I asked her, my face covered with a confused expression. “I’ve been waiting so long for you to ask me out,” she said, biting her lip and smiling. I put my arm around her waist and pulled her closer, “Well, sorrry I’m late then.”
