It had been a week since Nicole tried to kill stephanie and steal her 'crown'. While Matthew and Mark we're acting normally, steph was emotionless. She didn't smile, she didn't cry, she did nothing. Matt noted himself to ask her if something's on later, but now, their going to see if there's anything left from the city, like stores and super markets. They drove the car until they came near a shopping center. They looked around the place, looking for any one who might be alive. There was nothing. Stephanie looked to her left. One store stood out from the others for looking more old. Blood was all over the place. "Matthew? Don't you think it's a bit odd that there is so much blood in the entrance of the store?" Asked stephanie as they got closer. When they entered the store, they saw lots of dead bodies and some dead zombies lying on the floor. There was a static noise, the one you'd hear from a tv. They went there, and there was a tv there, it was broken and the noise was driving mark crazy. He was about to go and turn the tv off, but then he tripped on something and fell down. "What the..." He began saying. He tripped on something that looked like one of those old radios from the 20th century. A microphone was attached to it. Matt and stephanie went to see what was this all about, and that's when a brilliant idea came to Matthew's head. He quickly took the radio and put the cable in. He turned the thing on, and it actually worked. "Haha, yes!" He cheered. Stephanie and Mark switched glances with each other, not quite understanding what he's doing. "Um... Matt? What are you doing?" Asked Mark. "Can't you see? There's a microphone attached to it. We can actually try and make contact with other states." He said excitedly. The others had the biggest smiles on their faces. Sometimes they have to admit it, Matthew Patrick is a genius. They immediately went straight to work, looking for signals. It took a few good minutes until they found one. Matt took the microphone in his hands and started speaking to it. "Hello? Hello hello? Can you hear me? (I was California dreaming... LOL I'll stop😂😂) we need help, zombies has taken over our area, we need help immediately!" He shouted into the microphone. There was no reply, the guys started to get nervous. Are they completely alone in this? Do they have to kill zombies for the rest of their lives? Those we're questions that floated in their heads at the moment. But then there was a noise, a static noise. "Hello? Are you still there? This is soldier Thompson speaking." Said a voice. They guys cheers and jumped from excitement, but then the voice said hello again and they quickly took the microphone in their hands. "Oh God thank you. This is Matthew Patrick speaking. We're in Ohio Medina and we need a rescue. Please help us. We need your help to get out of here, the whole area is infected!" Shouted Matthew desperately. "Alright son, we'll be there in three days. Tell me, can you reach the city hall by that time?" Asked the soldier. "Yes we can." Said Matthew with a smile. "OK, see you in three days from now Matthew."said the soldier before they connection got lost and the conversation came to an end. "What do we do now?" Asked Stephanie. "Well go back home, pack our stuff, and well go to the city hall." Said Matthew as they went out of the store and into the car. Mark and Stephanie nodded in agreement and they drove back to Stephanie's house. When they arrived, they packed up all the thing they needed like food and weapons. They entered the car again after they finished.
After half an hour they finally arrived. The place was like a damp. There we're big chunks that fell from the walls on to the floor, glass from the windows was everywhere. "Well, what are we supposed to do until the army comes?" Asked Stephanie while she looked around in confusion. "What the hell happened to this place?" She thought. "we don't have many thing to do actually. I think we should place our selves here, get ready for any attacks by zombies, and mostly hope that the time will pass by quickly." Said Mark and they all agreed. They blocked all the entrances with big rocks so the zombies won't be able to get in. They cleaned the area as much as they could, trying to make it as neat as possible so it would be more comfortable for them. After all, they have to spend two more days in this place. When they finally finished, they ate some of the food they packed and went to sleep. The second day was Pretty much a day of practice. The rocks that blocked the entrances did a really good job at leaping the zombies out, so they didn't had to kill some zombies for a change. When it was time to go to bed, Mark was already asleep. Matthew was about to say stephanie a good night, but when he looked at her face, he could see that she was holding back tears. She was trying not to cry. "Steph? Are you alright?" He asked her. She nodded her head saying no and that's when the dam broke and she started crying like crazy. He hugged her tightly, his hands are rubbing her back. After a while, it seemed like she relaxed a bit. "What happened? Why did you cry?" He asks her with a quiet voice. "I don't know actually. I guess that all the things and feeling that I kept inside me wanted to come out into the open. My best friend is dead. I almost shot Mark because of my own paranoid mind. A girl who was supposed to be my friend almost killed me and I'm suppose to feel OK? I can't handle it any more Matthew, I just can't." She says as a new fit of tears started. "Hey hey hey, shhh, listen to me ok? Don't you never give up. We're gonna be just fine and everything will be ok. Just stay strong. For me. You know, when I read the note and I realized you we're in trouble, I was sure that if something bad will happen to you, I won't be able to make it myself. But now I know that I have something that it's worth fighting for. And it's you." He said and kissed her a loving kiss. Stephanie felt much calmer in his arms. After they broke the kiss, they fell asleep in each others arms. Finally, the third day arrived. The day that that army is suppose to rescue them from this hell hole. Of course they we're nervous. What if the army won't show up, and they Nurtured their hopes up too soon? They we're stressed all day, but then they could hear helicopters for outside. They moved the big rock from the main entrance and went quickly to check it out. It was a military chopper. They cheers and clapped, while a soldier was coming down to them by a long rope ladder. "Are you Matthew Patrick? Asked the soldier. Matthew nodded quickly. "Ok we're going to take you to our base now. We're taking you're friends too. Now climb the ladder and let's get the hell out of here." He said and after they all climbed they we're on it. The chopper took off, and they all we're happy and a little sad by the sight of the city they all grew up in getting smaller as they go further into their unknown future.
After what felt like forever, they finally landed on top of a building. When they we're out of the chopper, they we're greeted by another soldier. "Hello survivors. Welcome to our new city: metropocalypse. It's a combination of the words metropolis and apocalypse. This a city where survivors from all of USA and the area are moving away from all zombies. We hope you'll feel comfortable and enjoy you're staying." He said as he led them to their "home". "All the houses are white, so the house owner can decorate it however they liked. There is no differences in the sizes of the houses so there is an equal treatment for everyone." Said the soldier, who by the name tag on his shirt apparently called Darrel Crow. "For now, well put you all at the same house, we hope you guys don't mind. Here's the key to your home. Call us for more information if you need anything." Said the soldier and left them by them selves. They entered their new home. There was a guidance book on the table in the kitchen. The house was pretty big, with enough room for everyone to stay in. It was now night time. Apparently they could order any food they want from the food network and it will be right at their door, so they didn't have to make dinner. After they got their food, they did the weirdest thing that they all thought they will never be able to do again. They laughed, they joked around. They talked about random things, the word 'zombie' wasn't even mentioned once. They raised their glasses of lemonade (except for matthew, he was having diet coke) and said:here's to a new and better life.
And so it will be.

A/N: I just have to say that the idea about a military base wasn't mine. I read it in a fanfic once and I thought it was a great idea. But I do have to mention that I only used the concept. The white houses and the food network was my idea.
BTW thank you so much for 200 reads. You might think I'm being silly, but I do think if it as a good thing. Sure, I want to have more reads, but for now, I'm more then satisfied. You guys ROCK 👊
