Hey. Wow, look I'm updating a book. That's new.
Anyway, sarcasm aside I was just thinking to myself about some experiences with teachers and have realized "Wow, a lot of teachers you had have done some really messed up stuff." So I'm putting it all right here.
Now, one of these goes way back to a little 7 year old Cassadee in 2nd grade. I had a teacher called Ms. McAdory. She was crazy looking back on it. She had an obsession, and I mean OBSESSION, with Dr. Seuss. Apparently she told little 7 year old me that I was adopted.
Yup. Just let that sink in.
She told a little girl that she was not her parents' biological child. How messed up is that. Don't get me wrong it could see how she could get that. You see, I have a different last name than my parents. This is because my mom still had her ex-husbands last name (who is my sister's biological father) when I was born so I am her and my father's daughter. I just have her husbands last name.
But what if I was adopted. It was not her business to tell me that.
Just so you know, I don't personally remember this but apparently I came home one day and told my parents that my teacher told me "it's ok to be adopted."
Now let's just quickly go to 7th grade for a quick story before we go back to 6th grade where I will tell you about my teacher from heck.
In 7th grade I took art class for the first semester. I had a teacher named Ms. Kidd. One day she read us a poem in which we had to draw a picture from. It was essentially describing heaven in non-explicit terms.
So I drew my picture of a girl with a bunny near a lake with a city in the background. (Some of my best work btw). And I happened to put fish in the lake. I got this idea from a line in the poem saying there were no harmful creatures and fish generally aren't that harmful.
So we have to take our work up to her in order to get permission to add color to the drawing. The next thing that happens is I'm being told that my drawing of heaven is incorrect due to the fish.
Now, onto the teacher from heck. I was 11 years old.
It's the first day of school and we're learning all of the rules. We get into Ms. Andrew's class (the writing teacher) and she has the idea to tell us what we can and can't wear by bringing in a box of her own clothes. She shows us examples of all the clothes we can't wear and repeatedly gives us the thought of her standing naked in front of the mirror. She is an old lady with gray hair and no fashion sense (she had a pink sweater with small 3d pigs on it) and she's repeatedly putting that in our heads.
We had to write multiple papers for her. She told us either to write in very neat cursive or to type our papers. And that we were not to write stories, only informative papers. One writing project she gave us was she gave us a picture and we had to write an informative paper based on the picture. The picture I got was of a smiling ladybug holding an umbrella.
Are you kidding me right now?
Apparently not because I got points taken off for writing a story about the picture I was given.
I know I'm not the only person to find all of this ridiculous. I tell other people these stories and they are on my side.
Another thing was how she treated us. She made a girl CRY in her class. Whenever someone sneezed and we said bless you she told us that was an "excuse to talk". She told us repeatedly that we were stupid (in non-explicit terms, but still). We were 11-12 year old!
There is a happy ending to this story though. That happy ending is that we got her fired.
Our teachers like to say that she retired. But everyone who was there knows the truth. The part where she "retired" in the middle of the year, the part where we wrote petitions against her to the principle telling him everything, that parents were emailing the teachers about how she treated us.
You may think we were brats and awful children for doing that but everyone who had her and everyone I've told about her agree that she deserved it.
But those are my awful teachers. If you have ever experiences an awful teacher please tell me your story or comment on my experiences.
Anyway I have to go, don't forget to
