"You're gorgeous,Serena."

"Thank you." She sent him a dazzling smile; continuing to fill out the pile-that resembled Mount Everest- of paperwork before her.

"So beautiful." He said, placing his big hand on her inner thigh. Her stomach flipped uncomfortably. Flinching, she slightly pushed it down-causing a frown to appear on Zayn's face. That sad look in his eyes made Serena's heart swell with sympathy for someone as kind as Zayn didn't deserve rejection. Or any kind of pain.

"My lunch break is over soon..I should get going."

"Why are you trying to avoid me? Your lunch ends at 1. It's 12:07." Zayn knew this because she always had lunch with him. He dreaded when the clock would strike 1 and Serena would leave. Misery drifted away once she was there and the pain he was forced to endured for years seemed so..unimportant. He loved to make her laugh-he lived for it. So of course, the thought of Serena avoiding him deeply hurt his fragile, lonely soul.

"I have surgery today. I'm going to scrub in on a woman who is half cyborg. She is pregnant and needs a c-section to correct and stable the child's failing heart. Oh and did I mention she has AIDS?"

"I love how you love to cut people and fix what's inside them." Zayn says, grinning inanely at the dark haired girl.

"I love how you fight. Your treatment is failing yet you still try. It's strong and admirable and courageous yet absolutely insane-like I would've given up years ago but I'm glad you didn't and.. and Im ranting. I'm sorry." Serena giggled softly, hands over  her
beet-red face.

"Hey..I love it when you rant." He says, cupping her face softly. He presses his lips to hers softly, making her smile gently.
