"But Serena its our anniversary!"
"I know..I want to be there,I really do but I can't. I'm a doctor. My patient will always be my top priority..either accept that or..leave." Her voice was velvety and tired. She was tired.
"Are you fucking serious? I made you food and I had everything ready! Dammit, Serena."
"I'm so sorry babe..I'll try to leave as soon as possible. I promise."
"Whatever."

"Mrs. Orchid,i need you to stand straight."
"Okay..left."
"Is this really necessary?"
"If it wasn't,do you think I'd be skipping my anniversary for this?" Serena snaps, pissed at the cranky old lady. She continues to take her measurements and asking her questions until she was confident in her answer. The lady felt heavy pain in her back which could only be caused by,due to further examination, sclerosis.
"I need to operate an emergency surgery as soon as possible."
"No,you don't."
"Mrs. Orchid,if I don't..it will just get worse. Your vision will eventually collapse completely and that numbing pain in your back can lead to speed paralysis. We need to fix this quickly."
"How long will I be in bed rest?"
"Two weeks."
"No! I-I can't. I have a wedding. She's my only daughter..please,Docte-Serena."
"This is mandatory. Your health is very important. If we do the surgery and you move too fast you might become paralyzed. For good."

"You pressed the red button?" Serena runs inside the room, thinking something is wrong. She was surprised, however, when she saw Zayn sitting there-totally safe, scrolling through tv channels.
"Yes."
"What seems to be the problem?" Serena asked,a hint of annoyance in her voice, verifying that all tubes that were connected to him were in their precise location.
"I..I missed you."
"Zayn not today."
"Please,Serena. No one visits me and I..I need someone to talk to or I'll go insane. Please stay." He asked, looking into her eyes with his puppy dog ones.
I was going to leave.. She thought about her boyfriend and his special plans. Then she thought about Zayn. The boy who became her habit. The boy she just couldn't leave-the one she could not let go of.
"Pleaseeee." Despite her judgement and despite every cell in her body screaming LEAVE, she stayed.
