Serena took his hand softly and fled the room, leaving behind all her relatives who wondered who she was with and where they were going. Serena led him into the janitors closet, closing the door behind them and flicking the light on. "How old is he?"
"Six." Zayn answers, eyes bloodshot with guilt.
"This doesn't change anything. I still really like you." Serena says, brushing her thumb over his calloused palms in a calm, reassuring manner. "Can I meet him?" She inquired, tilting her head up to look into Zayn's eyes which were now a darker shade of hazel.
She found it amazing how his eyes changed color in accordance to light. His eyes, in fact, were her favorite thing about him. Faces age, personalities alter but the only thing that is truly evergreen are eyes. If you fall for kind eyes then it's almost impossible to stop.
"Y-yeah. I actually have to pick him up after this. It's my weekend." Zayn says and she nods comprehensively.
"Perfect."

"Danny, this is my girlfriend Serena."
"S-She's p-pret-t-t-ty." Danny stutters, cowering behind his father shyly. Serena smiled and cooed at his adorableness and bent down to greet him. She shook his hand and felt complete adoration for the boy. He had Zayn's pretty hazel eyes. Everything about him was Zayn and Serena fell in love with the young boy in a split second.
"Hi. It's so nice to finally meet you." She said and lent her hand for him to shake. Instead of shaking hands, he avoids her hand and wraps his frail arms around her shoulders. She smiled and hugged the little boy.
Zayn felt a wave of relief surge through him. Danny was a very shy boy-sweet but quiet. He didn't like to talk nor did he like meeting new people yet he was hugging Serena.
"Are you hungry?" Zayn asked as they walked into his car. Zayn ensured he had his seatbelt on before staring the car.
"N-n-no."
"That's too bad because we're getting icecream." Serena grins.
