Rwby: The Vigilante

Chapter 4

Vigilante 4

You open your eyes to your body shaking, your ears are filled with the faint whirring of jet engines. You open your eyes causing the HUD to engage, the screen switches on allowing you to see where you are. You see Weiss stood over you, she looks slightly worried along with Ruby, Yang and Blake. You look around without moving your head and realise you are all in a Bullhead.
"Hey come one wake up" Weiss asks
"I'm awake, and there I was enjoying a wonderful dream" you reply, sitting up
"Hey there hot stuff, get it because your semblance is fire and stuff?" Yang laughs
"Yang stop" Ruby whines
"I think it was pretty good" Yang says, throwing her arms behind her head
"It was, what happened?" You ask
"You pushed yourself too far" Blake states
You slouch against the fuselage and you let your head hang low
"Damage report" you plainly say
The girls look at you confused, but they can't see your HUD. On your screen an outline of a body comes up. Parts of it glow red and a yellow line appears on your right leg. You look down and see blood seeping out of a gash. You reach into your coat and pull out a small tube with a small opening on the bottom.
"Hey what's that?" Ruby asks
"Medi-gel" you reply
They watch you as you bring it to your wound. You press a button and reddish slimy gel oozes out. You apply it directly into the wound, it starts to sizzle and burn, faint trails of smoke emit from it. They can't see you, but you grit your teeth. Once the length of the wound is filled you place the tube back into your coat, grabbing something else. The girls eyes dart to the new thing you have brought out, it looks like a small stapler. You attach a black string on each side of the wound, along the length and across the wound. The girls tilt there heads, you press a button on your device causing the string to contract, sealing the wound.
"That's pretty cool" Yang says
"Basic field dressing, sealing and binding the wound. It's essential in my line of work" you reply
"Why did you say 'damage report'?" Ruby asks
"You can't see my HUD, but when I said it, it runs checks on my body. There is an outline of my body on screen. Places that have suffered trauma come up red and cuts and bullet wounds come up as yellow lines and dots, it's very useful" you answer
Ruby comes closer and starts to get excited
"Thats so cool!" She says
You nod as the Bullhead starts to descend, it softly lands and the door open. You stand up, pain shooting through your leg, you grunt as you step off. Ruby puts her hand on your shoulder.
"Need help?" She says with a small smile
"I'm fine, thanks though" you reply.
Other Bullheads land and other students you recognise from initiation exit. They all start to walk towards the main hall, you decide to follow them.

TIME SKIP

"Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren, the four of you retrieved  the White Rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR. Lead by Jaune Arc" Ozpin says, causing the crowd to cheer and clap.
"L-lead by?" Jaune stutters
"Congratulations, young man" Ozpin replies
They walk off stage and Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang walk on
"And finally Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose Weiss Schnee and Yang Xiao Long, the four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team RWBY. Lead by Ruby Rose" Ozpin states, the crowd clap and cheer
The team of girls smile and congratulate themselves but then look at you in the crowd with saddened faces. Ozpin turns to the crowd as Team RWBY walks off the stage.
"Now will The Vigilante please join me on the stage?" He asks
You stand up and walk onto the stage, Ozpin turns to you as the students start to whisper.
"You didn't recover a relic nor did you get a partner. Correct?" Ozpin asks
"Correct" you quickly reply
"However you showed all the characteristics of a huntsman. You showed concern for your fellow students and you showed kindness by making sure Ruby was paired with her sister" he says.
Screens lowers from the ceiling and they start to show you fighting Grimm alone. One screen shows you giving Yang and Ruby the white knight pieces. Students gasp at your skills.
"Because of this, I have decided to let you stay here at Beacon. You won't have a team, you'll work alone and be paired with teams that need assistance. A freelancer if you will" he continues
"Thank you Headmaster" you say
"You're welcome, now you all can make yourselves comfortable in your dorms. Your room numbers have been sent to your scrolls" he says walking off 
You pull your scroll out and look at it, your dorm number has been sent to you. You start to walk towards the dormitories.
