Running For Our Lives

Chapter 5

Lilly and Tara started immediately to make sure there are no zombies in the hotel. And to start building the fence. While Lilly and Tara went into every room checking them Elizabeth kept watch.

There was only one zombie in one of the rooms. It had no legs and no arms it's was hideous. "I won't have any problem killing this one." Tara said.

"Hotels clear!" Tara yelled.

"SHHH are you trying to get us killed." Lilly said.

"Whatever." Tara said.

"Let's go into town and get supplies from a hardware store." Lilly said.

They all piled into the truck and started our trip. "Ok so let's see if they have wood and fence." Tara said.

"Why wood and fence?" Lilly said.

"Because if we put the fence up then put the wood up we have the fence to protect us. Then the wood would be layered so the walkers can't see in." Tara said.

"Wow! That's great!" Lilly said.

They arrived at the hardware store but it was weird. There was no walkers in site. "Huh, weird." Lilly said.

"Yeah yeah let's hurry!" Tara said.

They walked around to the fence section and got the tallest thickest fence there was. It was 10ft tall. "That's perfect." Tara said.

They walked around to the wood section and Tara estimated how much we would need. We gathered all the wood and carried it out to the truck. "Now we need support beams." Tara said.

They started walking over to the poles when we heard a noise from the managers office. We slowly walked over to the office to see what it was.

They heard someone say.

"Who's there?"

"That guy talked. He can't be a walker they don't talk." Lilly whispered.

They opened the door to see a gun pointed in our faces.

"Oh you're not a walker." He said.

"Nope" Tara said.

"Who the hell are you?" Lilly said.

"I'm Robert." Robert said.

"Nice to meet you Robert." They both said.

"Nice to meet you too. So why are you here during the apocalypse?" Robert said.

"We need supplies to build a fence." Tara said.

"Oh I can't help you with that! If you let me come along with you." Robert said.

"We'll yeah we can bring you. We're actually building the wall to take over this hotel and help survivors. It has hot water, a pool, and electricity." Lilly said.

"Oh my! May I come?" Robert said.

"Idk how can we trust you?" Tara said.

"If you let me come I will build the whole fence by myself." Robert said.

"Deal." Tara said.

They gathered the rest of the materials and headed back to hotel.

"It's still morning I think. So I should be able to finish the fence by tonight." Robert said.

Tara explained to Robert how she wanted the fence and he agreed to do it.

"Let's fix the pool while he does that." Lilly said.

"Sounds good to me." Tara said.

They arrived at the hotel. Tara and Lilly went to the pool and Robert started on the fence.

"Ew! The pools green!" Lilly said.

"We'll yeah the pumps aren't turned on. All we have to do is turn them on. " Tara said.

They got the pumps turned on and added chemicals to it. Then they decided they deserved to take a nap. "Elizabeth can keep watch on Robert." Tara said.

Tara and Lilly went and laid down. As soon as there heads hit the pillow they were out like a light.

They woke up and Elizabeth and Robert was in the room. They were watching iCarly and it seemed that they were enjoying it very much.

"How'd the fence come?" Tara said.

"All finished it's 100% zombie proof." Robert said.

"OH MY GOD THATS AWESOME!" Lilly said.

"Alright which room do I get?" Robert said.

"You can pick any room there all nice, clean, and thanks to you zombie proof." Lilly said.

Robert went to the office got room keys and went to his room and went to bed. So did Tara, Lilly and Elizabeth.

They all got up the next morning to see the fence. It was beautiful! And so sturdy! Nothing could get through this. There was already a gate to!

"Oh my god it's beautiful! But wait there's barb wire around the top. We didn't get any did we?" Tara said.

" I did I knew we would need it so they couldn't climb over." Lilly said.

"Good thinking." Tara said.

They then went to check the pool and as they opened the doors to it that Crisp musky chlorine smell hit them. And they saw the crystal clear blue water!

"It's beautiful!" They both said.

"I can't wait to swim in it." Lilly said.

"Me too." Tara said.

Robert came up to Tara and Lilly and asked them when they will search for survivors. They didn't really know how or where to search.

"Let's have breakfast and then we will go searching." Lilly said

"Great, I'm starved." Robert said.

They all are breakfast and was gearing up to go find survivors.
