Karlie's POV:

She came into the cafe every day at the same time for five days after that. When it was empty, she took the middle table. When there were people, she sat on a table in the corner. Scribbling all over her notebook. Whenever the cafe was empty, we talked forever, never running out of things to say.

It was a new day, I was at the cafe and I knew it would be a quiet day. It usually is on Tuesdays, but I'm not complaining, it means I can talk to Taylor. I tied my hair up in my usual pony and left for work. It felt like I waited forever for her. The crowds died down around 5, and Taylor usually came at 6. I picked up my book and waited till the clock struck 6. I waited another half an hour. Then again, half an hour went past until it was closing time. Maybe she was running late? Maybe I'm in over my head? I sighed and started wiping down the tables. After slowly cleaning the entire cafe, another half an hour had gone past and there was no sign of her.

Taylor's POV:

It was 5:30, just in time to feed the cats, grab my bag and head over to the cafe, there's something about the atmosphere there that I find so relaxing and inspiring. Since I've gone there I've written one and a half songs.

I grabbed the cat food and poured an equal amount into each bowl. As soon as I did, Meredith comes over and starts eating it. I bend down, about to stroke her when the doorbell rings. With a confused look on my face, I walk over to open the door and there before me stands my girlfriend. "Babe! Hey" she said before wrapping her arms around me. I pulled her closer as I closed the front door. "Hey Sel, what you doing here?"
"I haven't seen you in so long babe. I miss you. I've been so busy with this record deal and every evening you go out"

"Aw babe, I miss you too. But I understand"

She retreats from her hug and looks at my clothes. Her smile begins to droop "oh, were you about to go out?"

"Kinda, yeh"

"I'm sorry, I should have called"

"Sel, it's okay. I don't have to go. Besides I haven't seen you in ages"
I said as I put my bag down and gave her a kiss on her forehead. Selena was here, I hadn't seen her since she told me about her record deal. Since the first time we went to Karlie's cafe. Why wasn't I that happy to see her? Why was a disappointed? I'm sure it's nothing, I guess I was just looking forward to getting some writing down.

The next day we woke up, wrapped in each other's arms, after falling asleep on the sofa and having a night of baking, laughs and talking with my beautiful girlfriend. I was lucky to have her but why didn't I feel lucky?

I carefully got up from the sofa, leaving her sound asleep, tidied up the empty glasses and popcorn packets then set for kitchen to make some pancakes.

The morning had gone by fast, Selena had left noon and I had the rest of the day to my self. I decided to sit down with the cats, order some Chinese and watch Grey's. I picked up my phone to order my lunch then settled my self onto the couch. I managed to get though 4 episodes of Grey's before it turned 4 O'clock and decided that I was gonna head out to Karlie's early considering I didn't go yesterday. I could use the extra time. Within the next ten minutes I was ready and out the door.

Karlie's POV:

I felt different today. Less distracted and more focused, I guess I needed a wake up call, Taylor does not control my life and she has a life of her own. I don't know why I even cared anyway. It's not like we've known each other long. Cafe was quiet today, again, must be because of that new cupcake store having its opening down the road. I took it to my advantage and decided to give my book a crack while I still had the chance.

Half an hour had gone by and I had already gotten through a couple of chapters. I was so indulged into the book that I hadn't even noticed the figure that towered over me.
"So I see you're busy, want me to come back later?"
My body froze, my heart pounding in my chest, could it be? I looked up to see the signature red lipstick and the flick of her hair and the biggest smile went across my face. I stood up from my seat, closing my book.
"Taylor! Hey"

She laughed and said "hey, not too busy today I see?"

"Nope, I've just been catching up on some reading", I said whilst gesturing to the book.

"Ooh I love that book"

"So do I, so far anyway"

"Everything okay? I didn't see you yesterday" as soon as the words leaped out of my mouth I regretted it, I sounded needy. She has a life. Of course she has a life. She's Taylor, she writes songs and has a record deal and I'm no where near as amazing.

"Oh yeah everything is fine, I was all ready to come here yesterday but, my girlfriend, Selena, well she surprised me and came over. I hadn't seen her since the first time we came here"

I tried to hide the disappointment in my face. "Well that must have been fun then, it was busy anyway" I lied, feeling embarrassed.
I walked over to behind the counter as she followed, going to the opposite side.

"So, are you expecting many people?" She asked me.

"Honestly, nope. I told some of the staff to go home"

She leaned in forward and said to me in a hushed tone "wanna close up early and get out here?"

The butterflies in my stomach awake, fluttering away. I gulped and said "don't have to ask me twice"
