Their daughter’s homeroom teacher has squinty, cruel eyes, that somehow remind Niall of his old teacher in secondary school. He smiles to himself and temporarily gets lost in the memories of old times, until someone nudges his elbow.

“… you must understand, Alice is a wonderful child, always so full of energy, but the fact that she easily gets competitive, and in quite an aggressive way, adds to these extreme behaviors. As a consequence it is reflecting on her academic performance.”

“But what exactly seems to be the problem?” Y/N asks, eyebrows furrowed in concern.

Niall loves that his wife can still be polite in such situations, because despite the earnest eyes Niall thinks he might be ready to strangle this teacher for talking about Alice in such way.

“Well, let’s see,” she moves a few papers on her desk, until she finds the right one, “Last week during lunch hour Alice punched Tommy Edwards in the face, claiming that he had stolen her multicolored gummy bears that apparently give her the power to draw better than Mary Kelton.”

As the teacher adjusted the glasses on the bridge of her nose, Niall leaned closer to Y/N and whispered “Louis”, earning a nod from his wife.

“Monday during PE, Alice used some really strong language at Emily Fleming, because apparently she was in Alice’s way during a game of dodge ball, and nearly pulled down her pants when the girl refused to move until your daughter apologized, which she never did.”

“Zayn,” huffed out Y/N and Niall mentally took a note to yell at Zayn for teaching their kid the jargon that could make sailors blush.

“And today, Alice refused to participate in class, distributing to the teachers and her classmates pieces of paper with the reason written on them, which apparently is that because she claims she is a princess and that she does not talk to lowly 'servants'.”

“Harry,” Niall and Y/N groaned in unison.

“Excuse me?” the teacher adjusted her glasses again with the same irritating gesture.

“We promise to speak to our daughter,” Y/N sighed so apologetically, that apparently it softened the teacher’s heart, as it only took them two minutes to finally say their goodbyes and escape the horrid counseling room.

“I think Alice did everything right, therefore there’s no need to speak to her,” Y/N stated, as they walked down the corridor.

“Her three uncles, on the other hand…” Niall started.

“We seriously need to talk to them,” Y/N linked Niall's arm, “Also, I love it when you finish my thoughts.”

“We are turning into those parents, aren’t we?” She flashed him a smile.

“And I love it,” Niall nodded, mirroring her smile, “Let’s go buy Alice a big cake.”

"Her favorite chocolate cake with coconut flakes."

"Exactly my thoughts."
