Gwen's POV

Fitz walked in with his hands behind his back.

When I looked at him, I saw him holding me after I got shot. Like I was reliving the moment.

I felt Aiden tense beside me.

Everyone else got silent.

"I think I owe you an explanation." He starts. I nod for him to continue.

"The people that were shooting wanted me not you."

"How do you know?"

"Remember when I said I met your other uncle?"

"Yeah."

"When he saw me he threatened me about seeing you but I shrugged it off. So when we broke up I guess he found out and assumed I "broke your heart" so he wanted me dead."

"So my uncle shot me?"

"Well his workers."

"So you're the reason she almost died?" Aiden harshly asks.

"Aiden stop."

"Yes." Fitz nods.

"Don't you dare do anything." I whisper in Aiden's ear.

"I really didn't think he'd try that, if I knew I would have made your boss send someone else."

"Wait you made him send me?"

"Yeah I wanted to talk but that didn't turn out so great." He scratches the back of his head.

"Whatever, it happened. There is nothing I can do to change the past. This just makes me value my life now." I lean back into the comfy pillow.

"Good way to look at things. Well I'll leave, get well soon and again, I'm sorry this happened." He gives me a sympathy look and a final nod. I could tell there was no bad blood between us anymore. He truly cared about me, I could see it. Too bad I fell for someone else.

"Well that was intense." Brody chuckles, resting his arm around his brother.

Three days later (Saturday)

My aunt and uncle were working and they didn't want me in the house by myself since I'm on bed rest and I'm in a wheelchair.

Aiden decided to adopt me for the weekend. I couldn't really complain, it was nice being waited on for a change.

He rolls me into his house as I'm greeted by his parents.

"So nice to see you Gwen, how are you feeling dear?" His mom asks.

"Much better, only a could more days in this dumb chair." I smile.

"Better put a leash on her son, once she's walkin' she'll never want to sit again." His father jokes as they walk in the living room.

"He's not wrong." I shrug.

"Oh hush."

"Wait how am I going to get upstairs? "

"Wait how am I going to get upstairs? "

"I'll carry you."

"You can not pick me up." I laugh.

"Watch me."

He scoops me up bridal style with ease and looks at me with his eyebrow raised.

"Okay, what happened to you, you tried to pick me up a while ago and you dropped me." I was in shock.

"Things change."

"Have you been working out or something?"

"A lil bit." He laughs and continues his journey to his room.

"That was hot." I say as he lays me on his bed.

"You're so weird." He shakes his head as he takes off my shoes.

"Sorry." I blush.

"Who's the shy one now?"

"Still you."
