Aiden's POV
She was going to try and go back to work, ignoring everyone's protest.
I wasn't letting her go alone, not now. She was so excited to do this again, being on bed rest for three weeks made her restless but then something weird happened.
We stood in her room at the warehouse as she was looking for her gun.
Once she found it hiding under the bed, she grabbed it and just stared at it.
"I can do this." She sighs heavily.
"Gwen are you alright?" I ask.
She stays silent, with her back facing me. Her breathing picks up and she's physically shaking.
"Gwen?"
She quickly places the gun on the bed and walks backwards.
"Aiden I'm scared." She runs towards me and hugs me. I rub her back soothingly.
"I can't do it." She cried into my neck.
"It's okay, I think maybe you just have PTSD."
"No, I can't. I love my job."
"You can barely hold a gun without panicking."
"I'll figure this out. I have to."
I hold her by her shoulders and make her look at me.
"You're going to be alright." I give her a quick kiss and she nods.
"You need to tell your boss."
"Can you come with me?"
"Of course." I nod and grab her hand. We walk down to his office room and get his attention.
"Gwen can't work tonight. She's not ready." I speak up.
"You mind explaining?" He raises an eyebrow her way.
"I got scared."
"I think she might have PTSD."
"Oh my little bambina. You go, we can hold down the fort." He held sympathy in his voice.
"I'm sorry, I hope you're not disappointed in me, I really was excited to come back." She holds her head down.
"Nonsense, you know you're my favorite." He chuckles.
"I forgot." She wipes away the fresh tears that fell.
"Oh can you tell Walid to come in here, I need to ask him about my niece."
"Who's your niece?" I ask, being nosey.
"Her name is Valerie, she goes to your school."
That made so much sense.
The guys never pushed her away because her uncle was with them. She knew about them. They had no reason to push her away.
"Oh yeah I know her."
~
"Don't beat yourself up over this, it's completely normal." I whisper as I grip her bare thighs.
"I feel- oh like a failure." She tugs my hair.
I reach up and kiss her open mouth, pushing her back on her white sheets. She moves her face and sucks on my neck.
"You're perfect," I groan as she palms me through my sweatpants. "As much as I hate to say this, I think we should stop."
"Why?"
"You're hurting right now, I don't want to take advantage of you in this state."
"You've been trying to get in my pants forever, now you can wait?" She furrows her brows.
"Of course, you would have felt really shitty about me the next day once your emotions were in check." I rub the back of my neck.
"Aiden?"
"Hmm?"
"You remember when you asked me what my aesthetic was a long time ago?"
"Yeah. You said small plants."
"Well I want to change my answer." She smirks.
"Okay, what is it now?"
"You, Aiden you're my new aesthetic." She looks me in the eyes and smiles.
"You're mine too."
"I love you baby boy."
"I love you." I wrap my arms around her and bring her close.
"Thank you."
"Why are you thanking me?"
"For never giving up on me. I really appreciate you for loving me, teaching me how to love back."
"You're very welcome."
Author's note: only a couple chapters left I'm so excited and sad for the end.
