*Dumbledore's Office*
"Are you completely sure?"
"Yes, of course, I am sure. Albus when was the last time you went to visit the child, the Dursley's neglect him and have made him into their slave. You promised me, Albus, you promised that he would be happy and safe." Minerva McGonagall spat the words at Albus Dumbledore making sure that he knew exactly how angry she was when she found out the truth about Harry's living status. Just then the door opened revealing a very confused Severas who was unsure why he was called into a private meeting with Minerva and Albus.
"He can't stay there with those horrid people anymore Albus; we must find him a new home." McGonagall had calmed down slightly and only then did she realised that Severus had entered the room.
"What is going on here, who are you talking about? " Severus could sense that Albus was feeling incredibly guilty about something and McGonagall was feeling angry and hurt.
"Albus perhaps you can inform Severus here on what has recently been discovered."
"Very well then Minerva. Severus as you know the night Lily got killed by.... you-know-who, Harry Potter was sent away to live under the care of the Dursley's" Albus paused a moment thinking of a way to break the news to Severus.
"Go on." Was all Severus muttered knowing where the conversion was leading, just waiting for the moment he could let his anger flow for he had known that the Dursley's were never a caring bunch.
"Well, you see. Severus. It has recently come to my attention that Mr Potter can no longer live with them due to neglection, but you needn't worry it was never anything serious" Minerva death glared Albus when he had finished his sentence, and before Snape could begin his rant McGonagall beat him to it.
"NEVER ANYTHING SERIOUS, are you seriously going to sit there and lie directly to Severus' face? Albus, they beat the boy, turned him into a slave and neglected him. If that isn't a serious issue, then I would hate to think of what is. Severus, I am so so sorry that something hasn't been done before. I know that you are quite fond of the boy after... well.. after the incident" Minerva's Scottish accent was thick through her rage and her voice stayed harsh and robust waiting for the potions professor to explode.
Snape let all of the new information settle in before speaking, trying not to kill anybody on the spot. He had known that the Dursley's were a wicked family and that Harry was receiving a small portion of neglect but nothing that serious, he could barely contain his rage but decided that yelling wasn't going to help the situation and something had to be done. After what felt hours, Snape finally spoke up.
"Albus I request that you send someone to the Dursley household to fetch Mr Potter and tell him to head to the Weasley Burrow immediately and that he won't be returning to that house. I will send Molly Weasley a letter informing her of the situation, and I highly doubt that it will be an issue since school will be starting in a mere week. Once the term begins, we can focus on finding Potter a more permanent home. Is. That. clear." Severus' voice was gravely and stern, much like the voice he used to lecture students when they break the rules, he finds that it is much more intimidating than just screaming in the child's face although he had no idea if it would work on the headmaster.
"Of course Severus I shall send someone immediately to fetch Harry. Minerva, would you be so kind and do the honour of bringing Mr. Potter and making sure that he gets to the Burrow safely?" Severus was baffled that the headmaster made it sound like McGonagall had entered the tri-wizard tournament and that she would be honouring the school.
"It would be my pleasure, Albus" it was if Minerva was thinking the same thing as Severus and almost said it sarcastically.
Once Albus had dismissed the two professors, Severus slowly made his way back to his quarters down in the dungeons to write the confronting letting to Mrs Weasley.
