Mistakes

As Severus entered the classroom he could see that the Gryffindors and Slytherins were separated and sat on their side of the rooms, today Severus had to decide that he would pair students together and they would stay that way for the rest of the year. Severus walked up to the front of the classroom and began his lesson.

"Good morning everyone, today, as you all should be aware of, is the day that your lab partners will be decided. From today onwards you and your partner will need to stick together, this includes joint homework, and I do not want to hear anybody complaining about their partners, I will, under no circumstance be changing the groups. Do I make myself clear?" A collective "yes sir" was mumbled.

"Alright let us begin, as I call your name, please step forward." Severus glanced down to his pre-prepared list and began to call students forward. "Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley." The two stepped forward and walked over to a bench excited that they were partners. Severus continued, and soon he was reaching an end to the list, only six students remained, one of those being Harry. "Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy" as the pair walked forward Draco gave Harry one of his signature glares. Severus knew that the two hated each other, but he had hoped that perhaps if they were forced to work together than they could fix their differences. After a short five minutes, every student was assigned a partner, and the class could begin.

"Alright everyone today we shall be brewing a simple sleeping draught, follow the provided instructions and help your partner, you and your partner will be required to write a joint essay about the process of brewing and what usually happens when someone takes the draught. Both of you will receive an equal mark. You have two hours to complete this drought. Begin." Severus sat down in his desk chair and began to mark some of his student's tests.

The rest of the lesson was uneventful and when Severus finally dismissed the class the students had a free period, so many of the partners went to start their essay, including Ron and Hermione. Harry turned to ask Draco what he was doing and if they could start the essay but the Slytherin had completely disappeared. Harry sighed and walked over to Snape's desk.

"Professor Snape?" Severus looked up from his marking and turned his head slightly to one side, signaling for Harry to continue. Harry nervously stuttered a response. "Uhh I was, I was just wondering if I could come see you after dinner, I had a few questions about my last test, and I wanted to ask you about it?" Harry wasn't so sure why he was nervous, the potions professor had already given him free access to his quarters so why should he feel anxious.

"Of course you can Harry, come by at 7:00 pm, I shall try and answer all of your questions, now you should hurry along otherwise you'll be late for your next class."

"Actually professor I have a free period, I was going to start your homework, but Malfoy ran off somewhere, I might go to Hogsmeade instead," Harry said thoughtfully; he hadn't been to Hogsmeade since his dream, and he would like to go back and just sit peacefully in the sun.

"That sounds like an excellent plan Mr. Potter, just make sure that you are back in time for your last period," Snape said kindly, wishing that he also had a free period. Instead, he had to go and teach the Weasley twins, just thinking of the two troublesome Gryffindors made him shudder.

"Oh don't worry I'll be back in time sir." Harry began to walk out of the classroom when he turned around to say one last thing "I'll see you at 7:00" grinning Harry turned back around and made his way to Hogsmead.

At dinner Harry hardly touched any of the food, he ate one slice of lamb and some peas but other than that he left everything else untouched. If any of the teachers saw how little, Harry ate they would be shocked. Every since he was little Harry never ate large meals, mainly because he got thrown all of the Dursley's leftovers, which wasn't much considering Dudley was a human vacuum. Harry knew that he could eat as much as he wanted but he always seemed to become full after eating a small portion of food.
