"How are you feeling?" My brother asked and I sighed "How should I feel? I mean, after what happened" I said and turned to face him. "I know, but you need to let it go Lauren" He said and hugged me "How can I just let it go?" I asked him. Just thinking about what had happened let's tears appear in my eyes. "Let's go" He said and walked out of my room. I sighed and sat down on my bed, grabbing my phone. I don't know why I keep checking it.
"Lauren!" My brother yelled and I grabbed my stuff and went to the living room. "I'm ready" I said and walked passed him outside. He drove me to school and then left for work.
"McQueen?" A familiar voice asked. I turned around and smiled when I spotted the blonde. "DiLaurentis" I said with a smile and we briefly hugged. "How long has it been?" She asked. "Five six years?" I said. "Come on, I'll introduce you to my girls" She said and lead me to a group of girls. "Lauren, this is Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer. Guys, this is Lauren. I know her from camp" Alison introduced me to them. "Hi" I simply said. "Hey, we are all hanging out tonight in Spencer's barn. You have to come! Won't be the same without you!" Alison said and after her begging I agreed. "This is gonna be so awesome!" Alison said totally excited.
At the evening I met up with Alison at her house. "Ali, come on! I'm pretty sure the girls are already waiting" I said, laying on her bed. "They can wait, that won't kill them" Alison said and laid down beside me. "Can you believe how alike we are?" Ali suddenly asked and leaned over, so she was parts above me. "What?" I asked "What do you mean?" I asked confused and a little scared. She leaned in and briefly kissed me on the lips before saying "Samantha!" Afterwards she got up and walked to the door. "How do you know?" I asked, but she ignored it and walked downstairs. I got up from the bed and followed her downstairs, almost running into her brother.
"Sorry" I quickly said, then followed Ali through some backyards until she held me back and told me that she wanted to scare the girls, who were already in the barn. Of course Alison had to be fashionable late and make an entrance. I told her that it wasn't such an good idea, but she wouldn't be Alison DiLaurentis if she would have listened to me. I went along with her plan, even if she confused me a little with that kiss.
"Did you hear that?" I heard one of the girls ask when I was moving closer to the barn together with Alison, making noises. The storm that was going on had helped us a lot with our prank. It had turned off the power, meaning the lights went off. "That's just the storm" I recognized Spencer's voice. "I don't think it's the storm!" Hanna said as Ali and I had almost arrived at the door of the barn. She looked at me and silently counted down to zero, before both of us jumped screaming out off hiding. All four girls screamed in fear, while Ali and I were laughing our butts off. I had to admit it was funny, although I was totally against it at the beginning.
"Ali!" Spencer yelled. Guessing they have some tension between them, well they are definitely not the definition of best friends. Alison ignored Spencer and was still laughing about the fear of her friends, while I had stopped by now. "Not cool you two" Aria said as she tried to calm down.
A while later we were sitting together, talking about different things, like that one new music video that I haven't seen yet and probably never will. "I love that new video" Emily said, laughing. "Maybe a little too much Em, don't you think" Alison said and she stopped laughing. I couldn't believe how cruel Alison could be. Whatever she wanted to say with that, it was a secret Emily had told her and she ignored that. A side I knew from Alison, but also didn't. I had no idea she would use the secrets of her friend's against them as well.
"Cool hair Aria" I said to change the topic. "Thanks" She said with a smile. "Yeah, Aria is the artsy one" Alison commented. "Alison thinks that everyone that dyes their hair is artsy" Aria explained. "Guess now is the right time to tell you that my hair color is dyed as well. Naturally I'm a brunette, little lighter than Spencer actually" I told them. "Some hair color as someone familiar to you, isn't that right?" Alison said and now she had crossed a line. Bringing up Sam was the meanst and worst thing she could do right now. "Hey, didn't you tell me in camp that you are into carpentering?" Alison asked and I looked down "That's not really art" I defended myself. "I think it is" Aria said and I gave her a look.
"Do we have some pizza left? I'm starving" Hanna asked and looked around. "Don't you think you had enough of that?" Alison asked and Hanna laid back "Nevermind" She said. I couldn't believe the bully Alison actually was. Back in camp she was my best friend. I never saw through her mask, which obviously means that I was stupid. I mean, how couldn't I have seen this side of her before?
About an hour later we were playing some Truth or Dare. "Lauren, what brings you to Rosewood?" Alison asked. She should have known by now that I don't want to talk about it, so it was exactly the reason she brought it up. I decided to give her an sassy answer, so she would let it go "A car" I answered and turned to the girls. "Spencer" I said and she looked at me, not being sure what to think. "Truth or Dare" I told her and she took a short time to answer "Dare" She said and I looked around, before picking up a red cup and filling it up with beer. I handed it to Spencer "Drink up!" "I don't drink!" She said and wanted to put it down. "You heard Lauren, drink up!" Alison told her and she listened.
"Emily" Alison said and she got scared immediately "Why don't you give Lauren over here a smooch" She said and the girls laughed, while Emily clearly felt uncomfortable. I got up and sat down next to Emily "A dare is a dare" I told her and waited for her to lean in, but since that didn't happen I took matters into my own hands and kissed her myself.
Soon we were all almost drunk. "Be careful Aria, drink too much and you will tell us all your secrets" Spencer laughed. "Secrets will keep us close" Alison said and encouraged us to drink more.
Hours later we were asleep and I woke up through some noise. I looked around and noticed that the seat next to me was empty. "Ali?" I asked, but no one answered. I walked to the door of the barn and looked outside, seeing two people stand near a tree where Alison was sitting again. The male had a field hockey stick and swung it towards Alison. I couldn't look at it and turned back inside the barn, then heard a scream. A short time later I looked back outside to see that Alison was gone. So were the other two people.
"Lauren?" Spencer asked and I turned around "What was that scream?" She asked and looked outside the barn to see nothing. "I think it was Alison. I didn't see anything, just heard the scream" I told her, deciding not to tell her about what I saw. I already knew that this was going to haunt me forever, but I didn't want them to think I had something to do with that. "Guys? Where is Ali?" Hanna asked as she sat up. "We don't know" Spencer said, looking at me like she knew I was hiding something.
"What happened?" Aria asked. "I don't know. I woke up and Ali was gone. I wanted to go check outside when I heard a scream and I was too scared to leave the barn and then Spencer was awake and well, then you guys woke up" I explained, still leaving out the fact I saw something, but I promised to myself to find out who those people out there were.
