"I see you later?" I asked with a smile and briefly kissed Jason, before going over to the girls. "So you are seriously dating Jason now?" Spencer asked. "Yes, what's so bad about that?" I asked her. "He's bad news" Spencer told me, but I refused to listen. "Spencer! Jason is the only thing that keeps sane right now!" I told her "I need him in my life! Don't you get that?! My life is a total screw up, I can't be with the guy I really wanna be with because I'm related to him! I need Jason! He understands me! He knows what I'm going through!" I tried to tell her. "But Jason can't be that rock for you!" Spencer said and I just walked off.

"Are you okay?" Aria asked and I couldn't even look at her. "Why doesn't Spencer get that I need Jason right now? Talking to him helps me to progress everything and as long as I'm not home, Byron and Ella can't look at me or blame me for their broken marriage" I said. "Lauren, they don't blame you!" Aria said and held me back, grabbing my wrist. "Aria!" I said, trying to free myself, but she wouldn't let go. "My parents aren't blaming you for their fights!" Aria said and a tear escaped my eye. "Except you are not worried about them blaming you. It's Mike and I you are worried about" She said and the tears became stronger. "Oh Lauren!" She said and hugged me "I'm not blaming you and neither is Mike!" She said, while I cried my eyes out. "I need to hear it from Mike" I said and she nod. We then went to look for him.

He was talking to his friends, but stopped when he saw us. It looked like he wanted to run away, but he decided to come over. "I'm sorry" I apologized to Mike "I'm sorry for being the reason your parents might split up. I'm sorry that you are blaming me for that!" I said and walked off. I didn't wanna hear him say those words. "I don't blame you!" He yelled after me and I turned around. "I don't blame you Lauren! It's not your fault! How could it have been your fault?" He said and I didn't know what I was doing, but the next thing was me hugging Mike.

At lunch break I didn't sit with the girls, I spent the time with Jason in his class room. "So I saw you talking to Aria and Mike earlier today" He said, while eating his lunch. "Yeah, Aria confronted me. It was hard, but I'm thankful for that. If she wouldn't have done it, I still wouldn't be able to look them in the eyes. It's still hard for me and Mike, but we'll get there" I said. "Do you think you and Mike will ever be able to be brother and sister? I mean, Melissa and I weren't that close, but you and Mike have been serious" He said and I sighed. "It will take some time, but I hope we can get to a place somewhere near that" I said.

He put down his food and sat down on a chair next to me "You can talk to me when you need to any time. Just come by the house" He said and I nod. I put down the sandwich and went to hug him. "Thanks Jay, I don't know what I would do without you" "Luckily you don't have to know how that is" He said and kissed my cheek "But don't get drunk at my house again or Mr. Montgomery will kill me!" "I promise" I said and kept my arm around him. "Don't let me go just yet" I told him and he didn't let go.

But a few minutes later I let go of him and finished my sandwich "I'm gonna catch up with the girls" I said, kissed him on the cheek goodbye, then left.

Back at home I was sitting in my newly assigned room with Aria. "Why are you with Jason?" She asked and I sat up "What do you mean?" I asked her. "Why are you with Jason? I mean, I know you have a lot in common, but that can't be the only reason" "Just ask what you wanna know! Don't talk around it!" I told her. "Do you really like Jason?" She asked. "I'm not in love with Jason, if that's what you want to know. I feel close to him, but I don't think there are real feelings involved" I told her. "Then why be with him?" She asked. "Because I don't want to lose him and if I tell him that I'm not crushing on him, he's gonna drop me and I need him" I told her "So don't let him know"

"You're secrets save with me" She said and I smiled at her. "This might sound weird, but from all the girls, I always felt closest to you. It reminded me of the friendship I always wished I had with Sam" I told her and she just hugged me.
