F-Zero: The Rising Hero

Chapter 1: Race at Silence II

         "That should do it." Ace Winters had just finished tweaking his cool machine, it was called the Green Amazone. It had the best acceleration in the F-Zero Circuit. As far as I know, Ace thought. The young man was on the planet Silence. It was a planet where no noisecould be heard, except when there are F-Zero races. The track that he and others would be racing on is Silence II. Most would want to win because of fame, Ace wanted to win to provide for himself. He had just left the orphanage of where he was raised. His parents left him when he was very young. The only thing he left in their disappearance was his machine. The Green Amazone.

      Up in his ship, Mr. Zero, the F-Zero Grand Prix announcer was getting prepared for the upcoming race. "DRIVERS!" He shouted. "GET TO YOUR MACHINES! LET F-ZERO BEGIN!" Ace had already cruised the Green Amazone to the starting line. He was ready to race. Ace was a young pilot, being only 18, but he watched F-Zero races ever since he could remember. He even saw Captain Falcon win the first ever F-Zero Grand Prix. After putting his helmet on his head, he gripped the steering wheel. The countdown buzzer had begun.

BEEP..BEEP..BEEP...BEEP

       All drivers floored the gas. Ace shot out in front, his machine did have the best acceleration. He also knew this course well. He swerved to avoid the first row of mines on the track, the next row he utilized the jump plate and soared over them. Machines can take only so much damage, Ace thought. His machine had a D body, so he knew he had to be very careful. If any driver needed more power, they could race over the "PIT" areas, and Mr. Zero would fly over them and supply them with power.

       Ace now approached a square on the track. It's center had a gap with guardrails, the sides of the track were guardrails. He figured he could use these to his advantage. 3 LAPS TO GO. After receiving more power for his machine, he was granted a SUPER-JET. A super jet is a five second speed boost for your machine. Ace used it immediately, he figured since the Green Amazone lacked speed, he would use his boosts to keep him ahead. The laps went by fast, soon it was the final lap. Ace had just used up his last Super-Jet.

It didn't matter though, he had only one more turn to go and he would win the race. Suddenly a yellow F-Zero Machine called the Luna Bomber sped past him. "WHAT!" Ace hollered. The young racer tried to keep up, but the Luna Bomber had better speed. The Luna Bomber crossed the finish line first and won. "THE WINNER IS GREG BARRY IN THE LUNA BOMBER!" Ace was heartbroken, he tried soo hard! Now it was all in vain, he had lost.
