Letters to my Friends

Friends Date

I went on my first friends date last year,
It was just before a show with a guy I know who is 1 year younger than me,
It was fun, the most fun I'd had in a while,
Let's go on a friends date?

We spent half an hour in Co-Op because I was picking a drink,
It always takes me ages to pick a drink,
And I got really excited over puddings which he laughed at,
Let's pick puddings together?

I didn't get a drink the first time round so we left and wondered around,
Looking for a fish and chip shop,
We finally found one and it rained on us whilst I tried to convince him to buy the kid's meal,
Let's get the kid's meal together?

So we bought the fish and chips and I ran into co-op to buy a drink,
He was waiting for me outside because he's sweet like that,
Our food was getting cold,
Let's wait for each other outside of Co-Op together?

We wondered around and eventually sat at a bus stop,
He told me all about how one day he wanted to cuddle up with someone with a blanket at a bus stop like hobos,
I laughed and we eat our food,
Let's be hobos at a bus stop together?

He finished his food and he said he would wait for me but I said we could go,
So he took me on a tour of his favourite route to this random door,
I thought we were nearly lost and it was confusing but it was cool,
Let's get nearly lost together?

After that, we still had like an hour left, we went to the Heritage Center,
He took me up to the library and we wandered around looking at books just chatting,
Then we explored more of the center and he collected leaflets,
Let's go to the library together?

He told me all about his obsession with leaflets,
How he organises and collects them,
I thought it was cute and it made me laugh how he was so happy and passionate about the shape and size of paper,
Let's be passionate together?

We left the heritage center and wandered around a bit,
It started to rain so we agreed to head back to the theatre,
It took 10 minutes but we got back fine and then we were almost alone,
Let's walk in the rain together?

In the green room we danced,
We ran,
We did weird jumps,
We tried to get fit within five minutes,
We had fun,
It was fun,
He is fun,
I wish we hung out more,
I'm so glad he's my friend,
