“How can this happen? How cruel can they be?” I thought.

“It was a mistake, a big mistake. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have kept her away from us.” I confessed to my wife. “You had no other choice. You were just trying to protect her. She would have been killed if you hadn’t sent her away all those years back. You know our enemies would have found her if she lived with us. You know everything.” My wife said consoling me.

She is right. Our daughter would have been dead if she had lived with us. Our enemies are behind her either to kill her or keep her in their prisons. The thought itself shakes the life out me.

“But what has happened with her in the past few days is unacceptable. We have to go meet her and tell her everything” I said to my wife. “She will not believe us. She will get terrified. She has lived like a normal human being all her life. These past 20 years of her life has been spent by her like a normal human. She doesn’t even have a hint about her kind. Moreover being a royal she will only shift when she is 21. She won’t even know what will happen to her before that.” She reminded me.

“But we have to do something about this. She cannot wander around the streets when she deserves the lavish lifestyle. She is the princess and the heir of my throne, the only true blood.” I literally begged her. She thought for a moment and said, “We cannot tell her everything now. We will have to wait for the right time. As far as her security is concerned we can surely go to her and tell her half the truth. We can tell her that she is our daughter and ask her to live with us. The rest we can tell her later, when the time will be right. She is our daughter, even I am worried about her, but you should always remember what the Luna told us.

    30th December 1994; 20 years back

“I am pregnant.”My wife told me. I was dumbstruck at first, and then I grinned widely. I was going to be a father. I picked her up and told her, “I Love you and I will always protect you and our child. I will also spoil our child a lot. Our baby deserves to be spoilt.” I announced. “You will not do anything such. Our baby will not be a spoilt brat.”My wife clearly told me with her authoritative voice to which I shushed myself knowing she will not change her mind.

Just then we saw a light coming from the window of our room, it was getting brighter and we both realized that it was night time and it being dark outside this light appears only when Luna visits, with all respect we kneeled down and bowed our heads as she appeared in front of us.

“Luna, we are honored by your visit. Please tell us what we can do for you. We are delighted to be at your service.” I said to her. “I am here to warn you about something very important. Please listen carefully.” She said and our faces paled figuring out the warning may change our lives.

Luna continued, “Your child is going to be special and of course a wise ruler. But your child will have to go through a lot in order to prove itself worthy of the throne and worthy of being a ruler. Your natural enemies will be behind its life, if the child stays with you. Your child is special. He or she will be the most powerful person in the whole world. Your natural enemies will crave for that power. To avoid its life getting in danger you will have to keep the birth of the child a secret and not tell anyone other than the people you trust. Send it away from your family. Never contact it before it reaches the age of 21. Its life can get in danger if its identity is revealed before that. It won’t be able to save itself or your kind if the identity is revealed. It will only be able to save self and others after the first shift. I cannot tell you anything more but if you want it safe don’t reveal its identity to the world before it gets 21. It will find its own way to know the truth about its destiny and purpose of life. It will find its own way of knowing the truth about itself.”After saying this Luna left the room.
