Step Brother

Chapter 4

It was lunch time and Lottie was currently dragging me to the school's cafeteria and talking about random people I didn't know. She has been stuck to me all day like glue, waiting for me outside my classes and following me to the next one. It was starting to get a bit weird though but I said nothing to her about it 'cause I'm sure she's just trying to be nice.
The cafeteria was full of students by the time we got there and I don't think we will be able to find a decent table to sit in but Lottie didn't seem bothered about that. We quickly got our food and she led me to an already occupied table .
" scoot over loser" ,she said to one of the guys sitting at the table. The guy whose back was turned to us turned to face us and smiled, " Hey pumpkin, who's the hottie?",he said while moving in for us to sit. There were two other guys at the table and they were all looking at me and it was making me uncomfortable. "This is Alex and she's new so be nice" Lottie said ," Alex, this douche bag here is my brother Nate ",pointing to the blond guy that was sitting next to us, " and these two here are his friends Lukas and Matt" . I smiled and said hello to them . We started eating while the guys continued their discussion

I think they were taking about a football game or something but I want really paying attention to them.I just continued to focus on my lunch and pretend to be listening to them. The guys seem nice but I don't feel too comfortable around new people and I soon find myself reminiscing about my old school and friends. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt Lottie jab me in the ribs with her elbow.
I looked up to find everyone staring at me with amused looks on their faces. I realised they must have been taking to me and I didn't respond cause I was lost in my thoughts.
"Earth to Alex , are you ok?" Lottie asked, sounding a bit worried
"Sorry,I kinda spaced out for a bit" I said, cheeks pink from embarrassment
"Alright then" ,she smiled,"Nate was just asking why you moved here"
"Well my dad died when I was younger and my mom just recently remarried so she thought would be a good idea to move since her new husband lives here" ,I replied.
They all nodded their heads in understanding
"Don't worry", lottie said,"you are going to love it here"
I smiled because I believed her.I was beginning to like it here already.
