I laid in bed tossing and turning , I couldn't really go to sleep. I felt bad for letting Jacob down when he needed me , he was always there when I need his comfort from my family gathering, I felt like I needed to do the same. As I made my way down the street , after dressing I looked at the address he had sent me and put it in my Gps.  I looked at myself in the mirror as I was stopped at a red light. I decided to wear a nice suddle dress tonight, to impress his family. I really  wanted to surprise Jacob, knowing , he would be really happy for me to finally meet his family. I looked at the time I was a little late but they probably didn't start yet and I know he would be more happy about me coming late than not showing up at all. As I pulled over I looked around at all the big houses,  I got out the car and made my way to the door. As I knocked and looked around , I heard the laughter from the inside seeping through the cracks of the door. I knocked again harder, and this time a lady appeared. She was short and very beautiful; Jacob resembled her just a little. I smiled while she looked at me up and down.

" hello ma'am" I said trying really hard to sound so respectful , I wanted to make a good impression for Jacob.

"Hello. You must be one of our caters come in, you're very late... that might have to be deducted from your pay " she made way for me to come in looking at me at me with a slight look of disgust.

"Ma'am i'm no-" getting cut off by a tall man , I looked at her and then him.

" Right this way , we have dishes that we-", he was cut off by , Jacob who was very shocked to see me here.

" Asha !", I smiled at Jacob, happy to see him.

"I wanted to surprise you, I'm sorry i'm so late I just really needed to be here for you ", He shook his head smiling brushing off what I had just said.

" Girl, you think i'm worried about that ? I'm more than happy to see you " He clung me into his arms , and we hugged tight. I heard someone's throat clear and people gasping at the sight of us forming together.

" Jacob? ... Whats going on ?" I looked at her smiling and hugged her

"I am Asha", I let go very quickly. "Sorry ... ", my smile gleamed. She looked at me confused and dusted herself off as if she was suddenly dirty.

" Asha ?... No this can't be ... You're black...? And Jacob said he was talking to a very intelligent beautiful woman of high standards,as so I recalled", I looked at Jacob then back at her.

" I'm sorry , i'm a little confused ... what do you mea-", Jacob cut me off , I guess trying to make light of the situation. But I was definitely starting to get a feel of this "KKK" christmas celebration party they were having. They most definitely don't know who I am, and I wasn't going to sit here and play nice if they wanted to take it there.

"Mom, this is Asha , the bright , intelligent and beautiful girl I was telling you about, she came to meet you and dad", he sighed and grabbed my hand.
