Your eyes opened, and you blinked away the cloudiness of your vision. You stretched, then sat up.

You must have...

Crap.

You didn't know what time it was, but there was a suspicious amount of light coming in through the window.

Why didn't my alarm go-

-AND I LEFT MY PHONE IN THE SPIRIT WORLD.

You quickly got up and out of the futon, noticing that your school uniform and books were neatly stacked next to you, along with a brush and a book bag.

You ran the brush through your hair quickly, pleased that up your hair was still soft and didn't need much brushing.

Hurrying, you pulled on the uniform, a weird sailors uniform looking thing no one at the school liked, surprised Tomoe had somehow come up with one exactly your size.

Heck, this fit better than your old one.

You shoved the books into the bag, then opened the door to your room and slid into the kitchen.

Tomoe was trying again to make food, but he quickly threw his cookbook to the side.

"What time is it?" You exclaimed, and the fox yokai gave a bored yawn.

"About eight o'clock."

You flung open one of the cupboards and grabbed a single slice of bread. You were too late to even toast it, and you brought the bread up to your mouth, before deciding to just carry it.

"Late-Anime-Girl-Running-to-School-with-Bread-in-her-mouth cliche avoided!" You said happily, and Tomoe looked at you like you were crazy.

You probably were crazy. That was a really dumb thing to say. Great!

"I gotta go!" You said, and the fox set down his spatula.

"Here. You have to wear something to cover up you-" Tomoe held up the ugliest cat ear hat you had ever seen, and you lifted up your hair that covered your forehead, showing a thick bandage that was unsightly but got the job done, and it was completely covered by your hair.

"The spirits already filled me in... Bye!"

With that, you rushed out of the door and ran towards the school, thanking the heavens that the school wasn't that far from the shrine.

"Mr. Fujiori, I'm so sorry that I'm-!"

"You're late." Your teacher cut you off flatly, and you flushed with embarrassment, looking at the ground, but every eye wasn't on you, like you expected.

You looked towards the center of the room, where your classmates were all grouped around one desk.

"Hm...? Is there a new studen-"

The crowd parted for a half second, and you caught a glimpse of him.
That brown hair, heavy eyeliner, and sultry gaze... Anyone would recognize him.

Kurama Shinjirou.
