Chapter Three

"What are we doing here again?” Jake whispered.

I sighed, irritated. “To keep an eye on Candice and Dan.” I’ve told him this two times already, but he doesn’t seen to get it. The idea was clear: I didn't trust Dan, and I had to keep an eye on them.

He poked me on the shoulder, “and why do we have to this again?” See? He just doesn’t get it. And it pissed me off more because I knew that this was his way to annoy me for waking him up at seven in the morning.

I turned around to glare at him, “’Cause I don’t trust Dan! Now shut the fudge up!” I said for what felt like the hundreth time.

He pouted, but when he saw that I gave no response whatsoever, he returned to eat his fries.

Dan and Candice were supposed to arrive in about five minutes, and we thought that it’ll be better if we came and hid out first. Since if they saw us here, they would become suspicious and ask a bunch of questions, which we weren't prepared for.

Because that this is sort of like stalking someone, I was wearing head to toe black, with a baseball cap that could cover my eyes. But I could still narrow my eyes at Jake when I looked at Jake.

“You’re such a copy cat!” I complained and crossed my arms.

Jake glared at me with not hint of playfulness in his eyes. “You’re the one who copied me!” He was wearing a tight black T-shirt that showed off his biceps and the same coloured jeans that made him look like a Goth. Which was fine, I thought. But that thought has soon vanished when he produced a black baseball cap behind his back.

We continued to glare at each other, and I almost laughed. We must’ve looked like twins, who were arguing about something really stupid.

          Tick, tock. Tick, tock.

When he still didn’t blink, I tapped my foot against the floor impatiently. I don’t even get why we started this, he knew that I’m good with those staring contests, and that he didn’t even stand a chance with me.

He was just about to blink when we were interrupted by a familiar laugh.

He swore under his breath just as I let out a “damn it”.

We looked at each other with one raised eyebrow, and bursted into laughter. We so looked like twins,

“I was just about to win,” Jake pouted and crossed his arms like an innocent little child.

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, right. You were so going to win,” I agreed sarcastically.

He was just about to say something when we heard the laugh again, and we both turned around to see that the laughing couple was just the people we were looking for.

They seated at the opposite side of the restaurant, and didn’t seem to notice us. Which was good, I didn’t want them to know that we were stalking them
