School went on. We just had a surprised calculus test, which brought creased foreheads to my other classmates. Good thing I had some readings last night.
I was still distracted by my recent nightmare. I wonder when it’ll end. Or will it ever end? My birthmark aches whenever I keep thinking about it.
Keith joined me at lunch in the cafeteria. He’s so happy when I invited him for my birthday tomorrow. He keeps on asking what I want as a gift then answering his question before I could even say anything. I laughed at his enthusiasm.

I was running again. Trying to run away from the one’s chasing me. Trying to run away from the ones chasing me.
This is like a replay of what I had dreamt the other night. But this time, there’s something different. When the man with the crimson eyes launched himself for an attack, another figure stood in front of me with identical daggers on both hands.
The new character stood defensively. The red-eyed one stopped halfway when he’d seen him. I could see from his eyes that he was shocked by the sight of the man.
Then the shocked faded and his red eyes glowed with rage. “Traitor!,” he shouted before he launched himself to fight the man.
But I guess, the other one is much too strong. He stabbed the red-eyed one with such speed that if I winked I’d probably missed it.
The latter fell to the ground and then burst into ashes. Then my saviour made his way to me. He helped me sit on one of the roots.
“Are you alright?.” He asked. He has the softest voice I’ve ever heard.
It was dark around us but the pale light of the moon above allowed me to see what he looked like.
His face is as beautiful, no, more beautiful than the one who attacked me. His lips, now curled into a smile, which any woman will trade anything for one sweet kiss. The straight line of his nose, the sharp angle of his cheekbone. His long jet-black hair, which extends to his shoulders, swayed as the wind blew. But what I am most interested of was his glowing red eyes.
He has the same crimson irises but compared to my attacker, there’s something in it. I could see sorrow, pain….. agony. I didn’t know where it came from but I just saw it. Though he had his sweet smile, it never met his eyes.
