I woke up early this morning to help grandma for breakfast. She was cooking her scrambled egg and I was looking after the cooking rice.
"Grandson." -Grandma
"Yes grandma?" I asked.
"Let's go to church today. Its Sunday." she said. I nodded.
After which, ako na ang naghugas ng mga pinggan and grandma prepared my clothes for the mass. Pagkatapos, naligo na ako and get myself tidy and ready for mass.
"Grandma. Sa tuesday na ang birthday ni Mommy right?" I asked.
"Yes dear. Now let's pray for her health and safety okay?" She said and I nodded slowly. As we are walking towards the church.
During the mass, I never participated in singing all the songs and I never sit back. Instead I was kneeling all the time. Praying for my mother.
'Lord? Thank you for my family. I am very blessed I have them. Even though mommy always beats me up, I don't care. I always forgive her. Just like grandma said. "Don't hold a grudge against others cause it is bad, instead forgive them." I want mommy to be happy on her birthday. Please lend me some of your strength and courage my Lord. To be able for me to ask her without hesitation the thing that could make her happy. I wish for her health to be good and secure her safety. I would do everything to make her happy Lord. I swear i will do anything to make her happy. She is worth giving happiness. Please Lord guide her and show her the realization and acceptance of the past and courage to face the future and the present. Please Lord.'
"Grandson? Are you done praying?" Grandma asked
I nodded. "Yes grandma. I do." I answered.
"The mass is finished. Let's go home." She said. I smiled and nodded again..
When we are walking straight to the house grandma asked me if I'm ready to ask her. And I said yes, because the Lord gave me some of his strength. At first she laughed but at the end she patted my head and said "He did my dear. He did." And we continued walking until we came at the house. But I saw Lucy came and she waved at me.
"Grandma may I talk to Lucy first?"
"Okay. Just hurry back." I nodded.
"Lucy!"
"Nathan!" Then I hugged her tightly.
"So how's the plan?" I asked her.
"It is settled. I came here to tell you that we already bought the ingredients."
"Really?" Then I gave her a tight hug. "Thank you Lucy! Its so much help!" I said.
"You're welcome. Basta ikaw." She said then winked at me.
