She was always shy I remember that. Brown dyed hair with hazel eyes. I was her closest friend.

I stared at her long and hard. The same person I thought I would never see again whether it be I die or she was dead, I truely believed this would never have happened.

"Hey little kitty" she said gently picking me up. Giving me a scratch behind the ears before cradling me to her chest and walking on.

"What happened hear kitty?" Sophie spoke softly looking around the barren wasteland.

"To much brown not enough green" she lets out a sigh and continues walking.

"Where is everyone? I thought more people would be around." She takes a look around. Making sure she saw every crook and cranny.

"You wouldn't know where a girl name Aj is would you? She promised she would be here." I cringe slightly at the name. My name. I couldn't tell her. Not yet. But maybe I can lead her to the humans. They should be able to protect her hopefully without killing me hopefully.

I jump out of her arms and started to pad off to the nearest human village.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

I look over my shoulder and make a jester to follow with my head. Padding off again.

It didn't take long for us to reach the nearest village.

"Look another unfrozen!" The guards of this village raced forward instantly stopping when they see me.

"Get the girl away from that creature!" They yelled out once the surprise passed.

They split into two groups one group racing forward and grabbing Sophie and taking her towards the gate.

The other group deciding it was best to surround me and make it seem I had no way out.

"We thought we told you disgusting creatures this place was off limits. The tallest and bulkiest human spat out clearly in disgust.

I look up from my obviously lower position and let out an innocent meow seeming to be just a normal cat.

"Heh you don't fool me kitty" he said again picking me up be my scruff tightly to the point where it almost hurt.

"For a rare thing I would think you to be tougher" he said before throwing me a good few feet away making me land on my head and tumble a bit.

"Run along kitty!"

"You don't have to be so mean it's just a cat!"

"You think that! Is a cat!" The big dude says with a laugh at the end.

"That is not a cat! That my dear friend that is a neko. You can tell by its intelligent eyes."

I stand back on my feet mildly offended by the comments.

"What is a neko?"

"Want us to show ya love? Welp here you go." Another said. one I hadn't noticed was closer than the others. Before he grabbed a needle and stuck it into my neck forcing my shift. My ear twitch with annoyance as I look up at the annoying human.

"AJ!"
