"Sophie!" I scream running faster shoving her into the freezing hut.
"There's none left what about you?" She asks fear and worry prominent on her face.
"I'll be fine I'll be here when you wake up I promise, just go!"
She rushes into the freezing unit looking out at me one last time before she freezes over keeping her safe. I look out the window looking out the sky. I don't have much time. With that I jump out the back window and run for as long and as fast as I can. But it's to late.
I wake up with a start. My breaths coming out in ragged pants. I hate that dream. It's the same every night. Haunting me, reminding me of my last day. The last day I was alive. I stand up from my 'bed' in reality it was a mattress on the ground. I let out a sigh and look into the mirror. My violet eye look back at me reminding me that I haven't eaten in a while. I hate my appearance it is just another reminder that I'm not who I use to be. I once had brown hair that came down to my mid back with hazel eyes and a natural tan that seemed to never go. Now when I look in the mirror is see my paper white completion, long ebony hair and my eyes that stay that annoying violet eyes that get a red rim around them when I get into blood lust. My cat ears twitch in annoyance on top of my head. Another reminder. A rare annoyance in this world that I got stuck with.
Not only did I mutate instead of die but I got a very rare mutation. A hybrid mutation with a rare mutant. A veko. Half vampire half neko. Which is a human who can change into a cat. But in human form has cat ears and tail. Very rare. I step away from the mirror giving one last glance around the room before jumping out the window to look for my next prey.
After wondering around in the dead of night I stumble upon a freezing hut that looks as if the freezing process has only just finished. I lift my head into the hair and take a deep sniff, human, not far. I smile inwardly to myself before following the scent trail that the human foolishly left.
I followed for a while until I found it. Jealousy sparks in my heart that this thing made in time and didn't change into the thing that I am today. I decide to play the friendly card before biting the human. I shift into my small black cat form and pad up to the human. Yet when i turn to see who it is my world stops and I stand there frozen with my mouth wide open.
