Being Friends With An Enemy

When a Friend finds out

I was eating my breakfast when I heard a small thump coming from up in my room, oh jeez... My mom looked up at the ceiling, confused. Lockdown, what are you doing up there?

"Did something fall in your room?" Mom asked.

"I'll go check." I said with a hint of fear.

I darted from the table and up the stairs so fast it could set a record. I opened my door to see Lockdown messing with one of my books. It was my book of machines, he was looking at the pages. He looked up to see me.

"What are you doing??" I ask.

"Thinking on how I can be back to normal." He said.

"If you wanted the book, all you had to do was ask. Plus I don't think it's gonna have what you're looking for." I closed the door.

I headed back downstairs to the kitchen to finish eating my breakfast, I sat back down at the table to continue eating my bacon and eggs.

"What fell?" My mother asked.

"One of my books." I said before I took a bite.

"Ah, alright." Mom took a sip of her coffee.

I finished my bacon and eggs and put my plate in the sink. My Daddy comes in with a newspaper and sits down at the table. I sit back down and start drinking my orange juice.

"Ariel, where did you find that toy?" Daddy asked.

I swallowed hard, should I tell him it's not a toy? I don't like lying to my parents, but if I told them then the military would be involved. I'm pretty sure that Lockdown would try to kill them, or they would try to kill him.

"I found it about a hundred feet away from the school." I answered, which it was true.

"Alright, just had to ask." My Daddy went to reading the paper.

"I'm gonna go play upstairs." I said when I finished my OJ.

I headed back upstairs to check on Lockdown. I opened the door to see him now on my dresser, messing with my toys. He was messing with a toy pony model, it's kinda funny. I cross my arms and clear my throat.

"Why on Earth are you messing with my pony?" I ask like a parent.

"I'm curious as to why you have these fake animals when you could have the real thing." Lockdown replied.

"Ponies and horses are really expensive and I can't have the real thing, that's why I have the toys instead." I picked him up and put him on the floor.

"You humans are very strange." Lockdown headed towards my closet.

"Why are you going towards my closet?" I ask.

"If I'm stuck here, I'm looking around." He said.

"Fair enough, but there's nothing in here that you'd be interested in." I opened the closet.

All that's in my closet is some clothes and some other stuff like old school supplies. Lockdown was scrummaging through my school supplies but quickly got bored.

"Satisfied?" I ask.

"Yes." He walked out of my closet.

"What do you want to do?" I ask him.

"Get back to normal." He commented.

"Something within reason." I said with irritation.

"Nothing." Lockdown answered.

"So...what's your life like?" I sit down next to him.

Lockdown looked up at me, surprised. I just caught him off guard.

"My life is challenging." He said.

"How so?" I ask.

"Well for starters, I have a sparkling of my own." Lockdown said.

"You do?? Son or daughter?" Now I'm really curious.

"Daughter, her name is Stormvine." Lockdown replied.

"What's she like?" I ask.

"More like me than her mother." Lockdown sat down as well.

"Her mother?" I question.

"She left long ago and left Stormvine with me. She would be what you humans call a teenager now." He says.

I can't believe that Lockdown is actually talking to me. This is a start on getting to know him, and him me. I now have so many questions to ask him.

"Who was your wife?" I now lay on my stomach, resting my head on my hands.

"Icestrike, a Decepticon. Don't ask me why I loved her, I just don't know." Lockdown hung his head down, overwhelmed.

"Ariel! Cassidy's here!" My daddy shouted up the stairs.

"Okay!! Give me a minute!!" I shouted back.

"Who's Cassidy?" Lockdown asked.

"My friend! Hide under my bed!" I hissed.

Lockdown nodded and darted under my bed. I heard Cassidy coming up the stairs, I opened my bedroom door. Cassidy stood there with her backpack.

"Hey Cassidy." I tried to sound enthusiastic.

"Hey Ariel," She came into my room, "Where's the Lockdown toy?"

"W-Why??" I ask.

"I was wondering if you were keeping it safe." Cassidy said.

"He's just fine, I put him in a safe place." I said.

"Him?" Cassidy asked.

"What? It is a him." I argued.

I saw Lockdown peek out from behind my one of my bedposts, Cassidy then saw him and he froze instantly. She went over to him and picked him up, Lockdown is pretty much playing dead. I get really nervous.

"Why is it under your bed?" Cassidy asked.

"Because that's the safest place I could think of." I bluffed.

"Wanna play with it?" Cassidy suggested.

"NO!!" Lockdown exclaimed. My eyes grew very wide when he said that.

Cassidy looked at Lockdown in her hands, stunned with shock. She then gasped and threw Lockdown at me, my first instinct was to catch him. He landed in my hands softly, he's still really small.

"Th-Th-The t-toy t-t-talked..." Cassidy stuttered.

"I'm not a toy!" Lockdown clarified.

"It's really him, Cassidy." I sighed.

Cassidy then fainted.

Time skip

Cassidy started to wake, Lockdown was standing next to her. It's been almost 5 minutes since she fainted, I sat next to her. Cassidy looked right at Lockdown, "H-Hi..."

"You're not going to power down again, are you?" Lockdown asked.

"No promises." Cassidy said nervously.

"He was hit by someone's shrink ray, he doesn't know whose yet." I explained.

"Ahhh, but why are you real?" Cassidy asked him.

"Because I am." Lockdown crossed his little arms.

"We have a lot of craziness ahead of us." I say.

"Yeah, we do..." Cassidy sat up and looked back at Lockdown.

"Please don't tell anyone, PLEASE. We don't need the government here." I begged her.

"I cross my heart I won't tell." Cassidy did the heart crossing.

"Good." Lockdown sighed in relief.

"Now what?" She asked Lockdown.

"We're gonna wait and see." I say.
