A/N: I'M ALIVE. BARELY, BUT I'M ALIVE NONETHELESS. Guys, let me
tell you. Postgrad can be many things. It can be fun, it can be challenging, but most of all, it's time consuming. It takes my life away from me.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR YOUR NICE COMMENTS AND MESSAGES. God know I don't deserve that after a long hiatus. You guys really are the best.
I'm sorry if the ending seems rushed. I just know that I won't finish this chapter if I don't force myself to do so tonight. And I'm exhausted already after a day spent writing my dissertation.
I haven't reread this chapter. So big chance there will be grammar mistakes and typos. Bear with me please.
Finally, ENJOY!
Frank Rossi as Riley. Just imagine him with bright red hair insted à
My eyes fly open when I hear Anders' words. He sits beside me casually, holding the piece of paper that Riley silently gave me earlier.
"It says that you have to meet him tonight after 'that barbaric were goes to sleep'. Care to explain?"
Oh shit.
"Where did you get that from? Give it back to me!" I scramble in panic and try to get the small note that Riley gave to me from Anders' hand. But alas, thanks to his stupid were reflex, he dodges my lung so easily. Somehow, in the middle of my pathetic attempt to get back my note, Anders successfully manoeuvres our bodies until we end up tangled in the bed. In any normal circumstances, being manhandled by a large were that can easily break my neck would send me into a panic frenzy. But right now, I'm too focused on the goddamned note to notice my current situation.
Until Anders pins me under his body. His very muscular body.
"Umm... would you mind getting off my body? You're kind of heavy, you know?" I laugh nervously, trying to play it cool while in reality my heart beats so fast.
"I don't know. Maybe it would be better if I keep you pinned down all the time. That way, you won't try to sneak out behind my back," he says teasingly. But there's a gleam in his eyes that tells me he means every word.
" Ha ha. Really funny, Anders. Maybe you should buy me a dog collar instead."
"I don't need a dog collar. A bite from me on your pretty neck will be even more binding that anything in the world." He stares at my neck intensely, making me feel even more vulnerable.
"What are you talking about?"
"Once a were bites their mate in their neck, it will be a lifelong commitment." He answers while stroking my neck. Creep.
"Uh what do you mean 'lifelong'? What's about divorce?"
Anders lets out a bark of laughter after I mention the word 'divorce'. Weird creep.
"Love, don't compare our mating with humans' pathetic marriage. Mates don't get divorced. Our love and commitment can't be easily broken like humans'. Once we've set our eyes on someone, there's no way we'll let that person go."
Wow. Scary as hell.
"It's not scary as hell." He says dryly.
Oops. I said that out loud.
"It is! What if you want out someday? What if you wake up one day and find out that you don't mate with someone that you really love? What if someday you realize that you chose the wrong person?"
